| OrBit Configuration Guide |

So far I’ve used OrBit successfully to configure headlights on my XC40 Recharge so active matrix pixel technology is enabled. It works beautifully! I’ve read through the list of 500 or so configuration parameters, and have tried, rather unsuccessfully, other changes such as enabling the self-parking functionality (my car has 12 sensors and most likely all the hardware it needs, but I can’t get this to work) or a more advanced level of Pilot Assist, or enabling “sport mode”. I know a lot of information and user knowledge has been posted on this forum, but as the user base grows, so does the difficulty of finding a concise description of “how to do things”. What would be very helpful (to me, and hopefully to other users as well), is a curated knowledge base of all we know can be done using OrBit:
- A keyword-searchable index (enabling searching on keywords such as “pixel”, “speed limit”, “pilot assist”, ACC, etc.)
- A description of each parameter with more than just its name - but also what it can be used for
- For each parameter, a list of Volvo models/trims it can apply to
- Conversely, the ability to search by model: if you own a 2023 XC40 Recharge, for instance, which configuration parameters can be used on your model
Obviously that’s a big ask, but this could start with just summarizing, based on previous posts, what is already known; and then this knowledge base could be built upon as more information is gathered.
Just dreaming right now, but I feel there is so much more I could do with OrBit than activating pixel headlights (and incidentally increasing the speed limit from 180 to 205 km/hr, which I know I’m never going to use!). Thanks for listening.

Hello,
I've activated Sensus Maps with Orbit in my Volvo V60 2019 and after this it said on the main screen No Navi available, please insert USB. I have downloaded the Central Eastern Europe Map from Volvo site directly on USB device. Nothing happened. After this I have downloaded voice control from Volvo and it worked to install. Again I have tried with the maps but nothing is happening.
I extracted the files from Volvo archive and copy it to USB and still nothing happens.
I have only one USB port but I have read that other persons installed it with 1 USB port. I have tried different USB devices with all the formats (fat 32, exfat).
If you can please help me.

Hey Everyone,
I’ve just had my MY24 XC40 Recharge delivery confirmed for the end of this month, so I’d like to start preparing to enhance it with OrBit.
Our company limited us to the “Core” spec (UK), so the first config will be ACC / PA, then just having a play really!
A few questions if anyone could advise:
1) How easy are the self-PIN options? I’m happy to pay the extra but if it’s straight forward I might as well DIY.
2) It’s a 4 year lease, I’m assuming to be able to “restore to default” at each service / return of lease I’ll need to have an active orbit license?
3) Inevitably, when my colleagues who ordered the same car as me see what I’ve been able to do they’ll be asking me to do it for them too. I saw the $50 per VIN additional, but I assume that doesn’t cover PIN cracking etc.? Any suggestions for that? The easiest option of course is direct them to purchase their own copy!
Thanks for the help!

I just purchased a year's subscription and CEM pin for my XC60.
While waiting for the CEM pin to be generated from my VIN, I've downloaded and installed the software ready to play with it. I obtained the 'one-time' code (based on my purchase email address) which activated the software for use. But apparently, this is only for that session of use. I was surprised to be asked to go through the entire process again the next time I invoked the software. Is this something I'll have to do every time I run the software? More like 'every-time' code rather than 'one-time' code. Which may become a little irritating. Especially if I don't have an internet connection when working on the car. Although I appreciate this method provides far better protection from the software being pirated.
