I need to replace drive units of the tailgate.
I have information that I need to go to the official dealer to update software for new drive units, otherwise will work only button on the tailgate (no remote etc.).
May be it is possible to set up using Orbit?

Questions come up from time to time, on how OrBit config interacts with OTA updates, and if your car can get blocked. The safest advice has been to "Restore OEM" before accepting an OTA update. That is always the safest thing to do.

We now have enough acquired knowledge to give a better idea of how these things play together. Note always there is a disclaimer that Volvo can change anything at any time without consulting me, this is just to the best of our knowledge currently (May 2023)

Sensus: Sensus updates are only maps and Sensus apps updated OTA. There is no worry of OrBit config being present when you accept updates. Sensus app updates do update the software list in VIDA for the car, with the part numbers of the updated app(s) but no config is sent up or compared.

Android: OTA updates are more extensive here covering the AAOS system and flashing some modules. Like Sensus it has been found there is no worry of OrBit configs being present when an OTA update is accepted and installed. Config is not sent up or compared in the OTA update process. However modules can be flashed as part of an OTA update, including the CEM so *note*: running an OTA update, sometimes includes a flash of config files to the CEM, which can wipe out any OrBit configs. You can use OrBit to change config items back to the settings you like of course. Just be aware that running an OTA update may wipe the OrBit configs until you set them again. The effect of an OTA update wiping OrBit config is exactly what happens when you run "Restore OEM" process in Orbit.


This does not apply to updates installed through VIDA!(Not OTA) Always "Restore OEM" before the car is connected to VIDA, if at all possible.

As we all know 374 adds the Polestar mapping to the gearbox, giving it some higher revs and a bit more aggressive shifting. I checked option 005 and saw the original engine values for my car. It shows HP/Torque value. If you check the Polestar website, it gives you the optimized Polestar Values. These values are also under 005. Since they can change the gearbox mapping by changing a configuration bit, wouldn't it be possible to do the same with the engine mapping?

Did someone already test this option? My previous Volvo had a dedicated button for home and goodbye lights. Our current fobs do not have them. In my config this option is disabled and was wondering what the options were.

I was thinking about possible retrofits on v90. Then I thought: is it even possible to retrofit 4 zone climate control? Did anyone try it?

v0.4.4 has been released. This is a small update with a timely fix for recent Volvo software updates causing problems for OrBit

Updates

• OrBit now reports version in the console when starting
  
• "Pre-2020" PHEV contactor control (open contactors before flashing, if they are in the closed state, instead of fail flash due to contactor state) is added.
  

• Recent software update to some 2022-23 models caused OrBit to fail setting mode to active, or opening contactors on PHEV models, when writing config. Reason is due to VGM firewall updated to block the commands when not disabled. OrBit now disables VGM firewall before setting mode and checking contactors.
  

Have enabled and since disabled a few configuration items using OrBit which has been awesome!

I now find that there are some gaps in both the car functions and applications pages where items I have disabled due to incompatibility once were.

Does anyone know of a way to rearrange the icons or at the very least clearing out the empty spaces?

I appreciate this is quite minor, however it really triggers my OCD seeing the boxes scattered all over the screen!

So I swapped a used module.

Plug and play nothing works. Next step is to check orbit config and hope the module can be used on another car.

I'll continue this thread once I have updates.

Hi all, 
my late 2017 XC60, whit sensus, does not have a backup camera. Only the pieps are there. If I fit one and connect it myself, can I than activate the camera in OrBit or is this really dealer work? Dealer said there is some software missing that the have to install.
Is there somebody who knows? Thanks in advance, have nice weekend.
