Brick XC40 Recharge interior lights retrofit
Posted by: iGeorge3 - 07-13-2024, 03:08 PM - Forum: Lights - Replies (15)

Hi everyone,

I am the owner of a MY24 XC40 recharge P5 for almost a year now and simply loving it!

My only "complaint" about it is that because of the urgency to get a new car (previous diesel Peugeot broke down unfortunately) I had to get what was available and for a cheap price. Therefore, the "Essential" trim was offered to me, which is basically the bare minimum of the XC40 (not even back up camera or front parking sensors ?).
Now, coming from a Peugeot which I had previously upgraded by myself (thanks Covid free time!) to be absolutely all options, including options from abroad that Peugeot didn't offer in France (crazy marketing, but yeah), it was a bit of a "shock" to go to almost no options.

Now, my project, and this thread will be specifically for that:
Retrofitting interior mood lights

  • Front door card lights - including the ones at the bottom when door is open, the door pocket, and the door trim
  • Central tunnel - including the one for the wireless charger, the armrest, and I'd perhaps try to do something custom for the cupholders
  • Rear door card lights - I believe they basically had no mood light, but I think it's a pity that the front has all these lights and the back doesn't have anything, so I'll be doing something about that
  • Trunk lid - there's a spot for a light on the trunk lid to have some light on the ground when the lid is open, but it's blanked out and there is a connector behind which doesn't have any power to it
  • Door handles - these have lights with the keyless entry
  • Rear seats light - ongoing, already got everything needed, just need to cut a hole in the roof liner and push wires through to the front light

Now, here are my questions, because in order to do this "small" project, I need some information
  • Does anyone know where I can basically find all the electrical drawings for this? I was able to find this thread: https://forums.spaycetech.com/showthread.php?tid=455
The issue with this drawing is that it's very generic and it doesn't really show me exactly all the wires, how they go through the car and where each connector or interconnection is. For example, for Peugeot, some people managed to crack the manufacturer software and this one has lots of details: if I click on a connector of the drawing I have a detail of each pin, what kind of electrical signal goes through it and where it goes to upstream and downstream.
I have tried removing the door cards to inspect, and unfortunately, there are no connectors waiting to be used, however, I did see the door control module next to the wiper motor which I believe does all the job for the lights in the doors.
  • I did find an unused white connector at the level of the wireless charger (next to the 12V plug) which I think is for the mood lighting around the wireless charger. Can anyone confirm this?
However, there is no power to it, I believe because my car has the setting for "MID" instead of "HIGH" in the mood lighting
  • Does anyone know where I might find the other unused connectors, if they are present?

Finally, for the hardware part, I can deal with it quite easily: I have 3 3D printers (yes, 3 of them, that's not a typo) and a 3D scanner which will be very helpful in designing many of the missing mood lighting features as well as custom features.

Thank you everyone!

Polestar 2 rear suspension type (408)
Posted by: Elcinkayi - 07-12-2024, 04:12 PM - Forum: Chassis - Replies (2)

I just noticed today that my config line 408 (Rear Suspension Type) is set to Twist Beam on my MY23 P*2, I find it quite odd since I'm so sure that it should be a multi-link setup.

Anyone else's config looks like that or is my car shipped with something messed up?

  IHU
Posted by: haga_mc@hotmail.com - 07-12-2024, 01:54 PM - Forum: Audio / Visual - Replies (41)

I have a Volvo V90CC and there my IHU has broken. If I'm going to get Volvo to fix it, it's going to cost me almost 3,000 dollars. I can buy a used IHU for 200 dollars, but then Volvo says that my car will not accept this part. It is linked to the VIN number. Can this program help me and accept the "new" IHU?

  OrBit Beta v0.9.91 release notes
Posted by: Power6 - 07-05-2024, 06:10 PM - Forum: Releases - No Replies

0.9.91 is released. We are back with another patch release to deal with the buggy 3.x version AAOS... The main theme here is to get the cars through to update to 3.1.9, which should put the "bad" 3.0.2-3.1.4 version problems behind us. As I know many people will want to Restore to OEM before updating the system via OTA or at the dealer.

(Latest version of OrBit can always be downloaded here: https://app.spaycetech.com/orbitupdate/download) The "update notification" in OrBit will be sent later, but you can download the updated install right away from the link.

New features/fixes:

  • Added soft ECU reset for all pre-3.1.9 AAOS 3.x upgraded cars - This is added to safety to avoid problems with 3.x cars through the programming process, but resetting the ECUs in the car to have a clean start up. OrBit will check the version and only perform the soft reset for the troublsome AAOS versions.
  • Enabling "skip programming checks" will not bypass the process ("skip programming checks" in this release will enforce the soft reset on any car)

Hi,

I just bought a license and scrounged up an old windows 10 laptop (I'm normally a Mac user).

Unfortunately I can't start the installer.
It fails with the message "This installation package is not supported by this processor.".

I'm running Windows 10 32bit on an Atom x5-Z8350.

  OrBit Beta v0.9.89 release notes
Posted by: Power6 - 06-29-2024, 09:08 PM - Forum: Releases - No Replies

0.9.89 is released. This is another "out of band" update to address issues with AAOS 3.0 updated cars, with a bug fix tacked on. I continue to try to avoid issues with buggy 3.0.2-3.1.4 releases. This means the incidence of "Flash failed" may increase with this version, but it is necessary until Volvo releases a solid version of the 3.x system. This has delayed the next "real" update of OrBit a bit, but I swear it's coming soon!!

(Latest version of OrBit can always be downloaded here: https://app.spaycetech.com/orbitupdate/download) The "update notification" in OrBit will be sent later, but you can download the updated install right away from the link.

New features:

  • Added more safety for AAOS 3.0 upgraded cars - Increased checks of modules responding and more time allowed waiting for modules to be ready for programming in the AAOS cars.
  • Enabling "skip programming checks" will not bypass the requirements for these additional programming checks.

Other fixes:
  • Fixed an incorrectly "supported" CEM for PIN Extract and failure on the newer "MID" CEM that isn't supported. OrBit will now not get your hopes up and try to extract the security PIN (and fail), as we can't support it on the specific hardware.
