  Seats are ventilated and fitted
Posted by: iamyxy - 05-31-2023, 01:39 AM - Forum: Retrofitting - Replies (1)

1. You need to use OrBit to change vehicle configuration.

2. Remove the seat cover and spring cushion. The seat cover needs to be punched and then restored.

3. Install hardware and wiring harness.

Breakdown/emergency service from Volvo no access to orbit
Posted by: Dodd - 05-28-2023, 12:34 AM - Forum: Misc - Replies (13)

I am strongly considering purchasing orbit. Seems like much to explore and experiment with. My only concern is that if you need emergency service from Volvo with no access to Orbit you may have issues with them. Is this correct? Would I have to find a way to change config back to OEM before being towed to a Volvo dealer? Don't mean to play devil's advocate but I do have a 10 yr extended warranty. Don't want to run afoul of Volvo just yet as they will be doing most all repair work. Looking forward to experimenting with Orbit but looking for some sort of assurance also. Thanks.

  360 CAM retrofit V60
Posted by: TweakeNL - 05-26-2023, 10:39 PM - Forum: Retrofitting - Replies (19)

Just bought myself a WAM, mirrors and some OEM cables. As it's official not possible to snip the LVDS cables, you can buy full length ones from the dealer. I added the LVDS part in the door wiring from an XC90 from the junkyard. Just extracted the LVDS cables from that one.

If you buy new door harnesses from Volvo, those LVDS cables are already in it. Only the replacement harnesses have these LVDS cables, so no part number with or without lcds cables. They are both the same.

All parts needed:

- 2 mirror assemblies (I found 2 of them good priced in Sweden. (Bildelsbasen.se)
- Grill including cam
- Reverse cam, as the 360 version is different then the normal one.
- WAM

All LVDS cables (V60):

32212969
32212970
31470377 - This cable is actually too short. I don't know how Volvo managed to go from the WAM to the IHU with 1480mm of wiring. It just does not fit. Will try to extend it tomorrow.
31470428
31456633
32265007
32212971
The LVDS part in the door wiring.

It is not possible to buy the connectors for the cams separate, as they wont sell it as a connector. Only full wire+connector combo. Even the manufacturer of the connectors.

Wam only needs CAN and power. (And to all camera’s and ihu obviously) It is on the same can lines as the SODL and SODRs.

Connector for power and can: 31268300 with 30656669 pigtails.
A1 BK/WH ground - I used the one from my tow hook.
A2 White CAN - Both CAN can be found on the right side in the trunk. As the WAM uses the exact same CAN as SODL and SODR.
A3 Green CAN
A4 BU/YE 12v ACC switched

Now just route all the cables in the car. All the cables just snap in all the connectors in the car. They only fit one way.

Install WAM in bracket.

Change config item

154 FRONT PARKING CAMERA to 03 Parking camera 360

And it works!

Still waiting for my rear cam. So, that's why that one does not work. :-)

Now we need to recalibrate it using orbit some day. Hopefully Andrew can add it soon.  Angel

Does Personal SIM config work in android automotive?
Posted by: nonuser11 - 05-25-2023, 08:13 PM - Forum: Misc - Replies (3)

Does changing the config option to personal SIM enable data using said SIM? For users who have Android Automotive in countries where the data connectivity is not supported, inserting a SIM in the slot does absolutely nothing. Don’t have a cable yet to get PINs and test this out.

Has anyone had success with this?

  Default to active high beams?
Posted by: A-P - 05-24-2023, 11:10 PM - Forum: Lights - Replies (13)

Hi all,

Is there a way -- via Orbit or another -- to enable active high beams by default when the headlights are in the "auto" position?

In my North American MY23 XC40 Recharge, I need to twist the spring-loaded stalk switch each time I turn the car on.

I saw a YouTube video by Bjorn Nyland, where it seemed like this was possible in a European Polestar 2 (https://youtu.be/BlUZfGMqv_g?t=160). Notice the active high beam symbol is present on the dash when he re-enters the car.

Thanks!

Adding 110/230V POWER OUTLET TUNNEL (VDN code: PG03)?
Posted by: KentXRS - 05-24-2023, 10:04 AM - Forum: Retrofitting - Replies (7)

Hey!

Maybe someone already investigated and can advise.

I have added power outlet to rear side of center console, as found out that wiring and plug was inside console from factory.

Checked wring to passenger side fusebox, fuse is also installed. Looks that wiring to CEM also should be, but not checked yet.

But, as per conversation with dealer , there should be some option activated in CEM to activate power for this particular outlet.
And as usual dealer says, that as this is not from accessories catalogue, they cannot do anything...

So at the moment this outlet not powered up.

Checked in OrBit, and cannot find anything related to this. Did I miss it? Or there is no such option?

Volvo c40 Can not be updated through OTA
Posted by: rocasoa@gmail.com - 05-24-2023, 03:01 AM - Forum: Car Connectivity - Replies (4)

Hi,
I imported a Volvo C40 from China to Costa Rica. Now I find out that I can not update the software through OTA via Wifi.
Is there a way to update the software with Orbit? I was reading that VIda is only for US Volvos in US territory.

Thanks for the help.

  JA option - Headlights symmetry

OrBit has no "JA01/02 HEADLIGHTS,SYMMETRY US symmetry/EU symmetry" or simply I do not see it on the list of config parameters?

  Volvo C40 Exterior Lighting Logic
Posted by: LiveTrash - 05-21-2023, 08:46 PM - Forum: Lights - Replies (1)

Can anyone with a Volvo C40 that isn't located in Canada provide their settings for the following:

107: EXTERIOR LIGHT LOGIC
108: DRL TYPE
116: DRL TECHNOLOGY

I'm trying to get my lights to function a certain way and am not having any luck with the combinations of those settings that I have tried. I think the ones I am trying are conflicting with each other. I'll outline below what is happening in each light switch position with my factory defaults:

O: DRL and position lights are on
POS: No change from O, DRL and position lights are on
HEADLIGHT: Headlights on, DRL half brightness, position lights are on

What I want to achieve is:

O: DRL is on without position lights
POS: DRL and position lights are on
HEADLIGHT: (no change)

Right now, I can mostly achieve this with setting "01 Dedicated daytime running light (DDRL) not together with position light" under "107 EXTERIOR LIGHT LOGIC". However, what's happening is that a side marker light on the headlight is not turning on as required. Everything else turns on just fine. Any ideas...?

Thanks.
