Question 289 - ESCALATED EMERGENCY STOP
Posted by: leandro.vitali - 08-24-2025, 12:37 AM - Forum: Safety - Replies (4)

Hi everyone! How are you doing?

Has anyone here managed to get the ESS system working on the XC40 1.5 Hybrid R-Design 2020? I tried several options using OrBit, but none of them worked. I think this technology is really cool and I’d love to activate it on my car. If anyone has gone through this or has any tips, please share! Thanks.

Question 029 - ELECTRIC VEHICLE INLET
Posted by: leandro.vitali - 08-24-2025, 12:14 AM - Forum: Engine / Transmission - No Replies

Hello everyone!

I own a Volvo XC40 Hybrid 1.5 R-Design 2020. Currently, when using the portable charger on a 220V outlet, the charging time is approximately 3 hours. In the menu “29 – Electric Vehicle Inlet”, my car is set to Option 03 – Electric Vehicle Inlet, Type 2.

My question is: if I change this setting to Option 06 – Electric Vehicle Inlet, Type 2 + QuickCharge (Combination) and then use a fast charger (like the ones available at official charging stations), would the charging time actually be reduced due to the “QuickCharge” capability? Or is there no compatibility in this case?

Has anyone tested this or has any experience with it?

  Profile Update
Posted by: vicorente - 08-23-2025, 09:28 AM - Forum: Service Functions - Replies (1)

Yesterday I picked up the car from its periodic maintenance service. Before that, I performed an OEM set with Orbit in case of any issues with Volvo. When I got home, I reprogrammed to return to its previous state, and when I started Orbit, it prompted me to perform a "profile update." I accepted, and everything went smoothly. But, why was it asking me for a profile update after the maintenance service? What exactly is a profile update?

Thank you.

Smile Polestar 2 boot fire
Posted by: Marky mark - 08-23-2025, 09:20 AM - Forum: OrBit Q&A - Ask your questions here! - No Replies

So i'm after some guidance.
I've just purchased a Polestar 2 that's had a small electrical fire in the rear right boot area, as the car has been stripped i'm not sure what I might be missing as the car has had items removed since the auction pictures. The first items that are missing are the powered tailgate rams so I'm what else has been stolen or removed from it. The car arrived with the burn't section of loom  also cut out so again I'm strugging to determine what other items could be missing, I do still have the amp, do they come with sub as standard or is that an option? The missing section of loom looks like it would have returned up the C pillar where it would have supplied the tailgate wiring and picked up the seatbelt tensioner, am I missing anything else.
If it makes a difference the car seem to be a 2024 model as its 2wd with the motor in the rear.
Are the looms standard between all model on the Polestar as I've noticed that the left loom seems to have spare plugs for other accessories wrapped in foam.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I'm struggling for information as as its fairly new and I found the dealers very unhelpful here in the UK.
And for anyone thats wondering the car still drives, there was no one more surprised than me  Smile

TIA Mark

Activate DAB on Sensus V60 2019?
Posted by: hellohowdy - 08-22-2025, 02:18 PM - Forum: Retrofitting - Replies (4)

Hello,

is it possible to activate DAB on a V60 MY 2019? A Volvo shop told me I need a different IHU, anything else? Is it possible to activate it using Orbit?

Thanks

  Polestar TCM Tune Actually Enabled?
Posted by: csecrist13 - 08-21-2025, 09:42 PM - Forum: Engine / Transmission - Replies (7)

Hey guys just wanted to put some feelers out there. I bought a 22 xc90 and used orbit to enable the "Transmission Tune". I understand the awd split, engine, etc is all an actual software update. I had the chance to drive a Polestar Optimized xc90 at work that was traded. (Im a JLR tech). Unless I messed something up, orbit does not enable the trans tune. The shift patterns and holding times are completely different. It is notably faster at shifting and is almost a track only kinda tune. Has anyone else had this experience as well or just me?

2025.5 XC90 Config Error After OTA
Posted by: SlapShot - 08-17-2025, 07:36 PM - Forum: OrBit Q&A - Ask your questions here! - No Replies

If anyone else has a 2025.5 XC90 can you post whether there is a CEM config error code after the 3.7 OTA?

Car was received with the 3.4.4 software version and there was a config error code when I first connected it to Orbit (before any configuration changes have been made by me). I had been waiting for a software update to see if that cleared it before making any config changes. Installed 3.7 OTA a few days ago and it still persists even after clearing codes.

Is this normal behavior for 2025.5's?

A couple of questions about functionality
Posted by: JamesNotBond007 - 08-17-2025, 07:17 AM - Forum: Safety - Replies (3)

I recently purchased a (rather rare?) 2022 V60 T6 R-design with bigger battery pack, 107KW electric motor and Volvo Sensus. Most of those here are either having a smaller battery or Google system with larger battery.
When turning on ignition it says to have intellisafe package and so far i have tested its self parking, 360deg cameras, lane keeping. All of those seem to work just fine. The car  is missing BLIS - the blind spot monitoring and the ACC. From what i've read here, the physical compatibility for ACC should be there, but what about the BLIS? The mirrors are definitely different because they are missing the led warning lights. But what else? Would it be possible to retrofit the BLIS on this car and what would I need for that, besided the mirrors?

  Performance mode is working?
Posted by: Sodertalje - 08-15-2025, 07:28 AM - Forum: Engine / Transmission - Replies (4)

I found torque.logic on Instagram and besides that they are setting options with OrBit, they also claim power increase and setting more aggressive Polestar Engineered software. There is no proof for it, but people are paying for it anyway. Are they selling placebos or is there some truth behind it?
