Just wanted to see if there are other XC40 P8 users here to compare notes on the Battery SOH numbers.
I have had my P8 for over a year and driven 25000km. The Battery SOH readout in orbit was 94.55%.

2016 XC90 Carplay - No option in Orbit |

Hey There,
I'm a new Volvo owner (2016 T6 XC90), and love to tinker, so after chasing my tail with Vida and finding it's impossible to access even with a bulletproof VPN (VIN approval needed regionally), I've purchased Orbit with a CEM unluck which has been great.
I've unlocked adaptive cruise which is nice (but haven't tested it on the road yet), enabled permanent memory on start/stop (again awesome), however I was really hoping to get Apple Carplay going.
Within Orbit - there appears to be no option to enable Carplay, which I understand should be:
"224 - 04 - With Carplay & Android Auto"
That variable is just missing from the config list.
As a bit of context, my XC90 is Australian and appears to be one of the earlier ones, without the mode settings (next to handbrake) and only the single USB port with AUX to the console glove box.
Does simply ordering the double USB enable the carplay option I'm looking for or is it a waste of money to do this? I don't want to go through the effort/cost of ordering the double USB (and AUX) parts to find out that Orbit is still unable to unlock Carplay.
Does anyone have any idea why the option above isn't appearing?
Thanks.

Polestar 2 ACC & Pilot Assist |

Copied some settings that I found on another thread for the XC40 Recharge, since the Polestar 2 and XC40 Recharge have near identical software stacks and specs I figured the exact settings would also apply to the Polestar 2.
I have a MY23 with no packs, so I applied the following settings and it's worked wonderfully for me after some testing.
023 Cruise Control: 04 Adaptive cruise control stop & go level 1
314 Adaptive Cruise Control Version: 02 ACC version 2
145 Traffic Jam Assist: 05 With Traffic Jam Assist, Level 4

Do I need to lock the car and let it "sleep" after write config with OrBit? |

Sometimes folks ask if they need to lock the car and leave it for a short time, until the screen "goes to sleep", after they flash a config change with OrBit. The short answer is no, you do not need to do that.
I think the need for this comes from using other software to change Volvo config. When you change configs in the car that change the menus or buttons that show up in the (Sensus/Android) center infotainment screen, the infotainment unit (the IHU) needs to read the config changes and apply them. When OrBit flashes the car, it always restarts the IHU in the post-programming step, just like VIDA does with every software flash. Changes to the Sensus/Android system menus and buttons reflecting a new config should take effect right away with the IHU restart.
You should only need to do the "lock and sleep" for troubleshooting a config change where you don't see some expected menu, button, or display show up in the screens in the car. It is a good step to try leaving the car locked for a bit, before assuming that your config change did not work or is not compatible with the car.

Switching laptops |

I know I’ve seen this topic covered but can’t find it now… The laptop I’ve been using to Orbit my car just suffered a tragic accident and is a total goner. My config is currently changed (adaptive high beams, easy ingress, speed limiter and curve assist are all activated) but I’ve got a dealer visit coming up in a couple weeks and want to restore to OEM before that. It’s just as simple as reinstalling orbit on another computer and restoring to OEM, right? My understanding from the explanation Power6 gave (that I can’t find) was that there is nothing about the config saved on the laptop or in Orbit, so it can be done from any machine. I just need a sanity check before I do anything.

Offline Work - Load and compare configs |

Hi @Power6,
I've been thinking about a useful addition to the software. I often find myself needing to identify the changes I made to the configuration items compared to the original OEM settings. Unfortunately, I can't do this without the .TXT versions of both files to utilize an external compare tool.
The problem arises when I only have the .orb file and don't have access to the actual car. In such cases, I can't load one file and perform a comparison with the other.
It would be really helpful if we could at least generate a difference file in such situations.
Do you think it's possible to implement this functionality? It could be a game-changer for managing configurations more effectively. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this!

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Drive Modes |

Hello experts! Volvo states clearly that its Stability Control system (ESC) cannot be switched off. However, some models offer an ESC Sport Mode, which allows for a "more active driving experience" (i.e. perhaps a bit more skid/fun). I own a 2023 XC40 Recharge which does not have drive modes (except for an Offroad Mode, which increases traction). The car does not allow for any kind of drifting. I suspect that the absence of a drive mode switch (physical or on the center screen) is a limitation of the Android OS, but I'd like to know if anyone on this forums has had any success activating drive modes on an Android-based Volvo (preferably a full electric XC40 Recharge).
Looking at the list of configuration items, I see that the following items seem to pertain to drive modes:
049 - Performance Mode (w/o or with)
057 - Drive Mode (w/o or with a drive mode switch)
452 - Drive Mode Switch (similar to 057?)
Playing with these settings does not seem to have any effect on my XC40 Recharge. Has anyone on this forum had more success with these?
Thanks in advance for any help!

NAVI MAP REGIONS |

Good afternoon.
In the decoding of the vehicle configuration in VIDA there is an item "Navi Map Regions".
For example:
VA02 NAVI MAP REGIONS Map region for Europe
VA0C NAVI MAP REGIONS Map region for Japan
There is no such item in Orbit. Is it possible to change Navi Map Regions? Or is it necessary to replace the IHU or its software?

Orbit using WLAN |

Since orbit talks to the car using ethernet, I remember connecting my P2 to my wifi and able to see its traffic.
With the WLAN shop mode on, maybe we can access the car that way too?
Could we get a box where we could specify the IP adress and/or MAC address to test this idea ?
