Hi there,

A noticed an slight increase on SoH of the PHEV Battery (10.8 kWh model / 6 years old). Current report 83,1% and last report 82,7% months back. I am little surprised and I guess I should be happy it reached some sort of stable level.

Can you share anything on how Orbit retrieves or calculates this value?

I also found VIDA has been upgraded to compute and generate SoH certificates from MY21 onwards, so Volvo modified their SoH calculations probably too. Can you state something about this too? Orbit probably is more close to the legacy calculation of VIDA?

3.7 tried to brick me; Orbit saved the day!

I have a ‘21 P8, and I applied the 3.7 OTA update and it claimed to install successfully. The next time I went to drive my car after the update, it screamed with every warning possible and ultimately left the message “Stop Safely Brake Failure”. I had no driver aids and no regenerative braking. Fortunately the friction brakes worked.

I do the typical reset a few times with no luck. Then I remembered I have Orbit and decided to just try “Restore to OEM” despite having my car already set to OEM. Then MAGIC! Well, actually about ten minutes of suspense while I watch the car reset and reset and reset (which the Orbit programming sometimes does). But then finally it boots back up and all my errors are gone and my car is back to normal!

I wish Volvo’s software wasn’t so awful. But if you run I to this stuff, and have Orbit, you might be able to save yourself a trip to the dealer. YMMV but I’m glad I have it.

I’m using Orbit with my 2016 XC90 T8 (SPA platform). I would like to know if Orbit can directly read out specific PIDs, such as:

- Hybrid battery State of Charge (SoC)
- Electric range
- Charging status (AC/DC, power)
- Climate control / heater status

So far I’ve been experimenting with WiCAN and MQTT → Home Assistant, but I’d prefer to use Orbit if it can decode these values more easily (without having to sniff all CAN frames myself).

Can Orbit access these PIDs directly, or is it limited to diagnostics (DTCs, service functions)? And if possible, is there documentation or a module/DB available for SPA cars?

is that normal?

I only use OrBit to unlimit the 180 km/h. Every time I do so or revert to OEM before update and service, after configuration the trailer service notification comes up and I can't release the hitch. Only after deleting all errors and rebooting all ECUs, the hitch is working again.

The car is a 2024 XC90 T8.

Hello all from Spain. 

I am new to the forum, I am waiting to receive a 2021 T8 s60 and I came across this software but I have some doubts. 

I am quite into changing configs in all my cars (hondata, vagom, etc) but never had a Volvo before.

I have been taking a look at the orbit configs and I am wondering:

If I dissable passenger hood pop from orbit but the car has it installed, in case of collision will they be fired? A friend of mine had a small crash against a bush and the hood popped up and he had to pay about 2k € to replace them and had the car unusable for months. So I would like to disable it.

Also, has anyone succeeded in adding front camera? My car only has a rear view camera but I would love to have the front one too.

Hello, can orbit clear errors from the BECM module?

Do I really need to revert back?
If I don’t, will my changes be “sticky”?

Guys, are you aware of any third-party mods or features that could potentially activate the parking brake when the driver’s door opens?

Before my 2019 XC60 T6, I had a BMW X4 F26 that had a shift-by-wire feature and an awesome option to automatically shift to “P” if the driver opened the door.

A couple of days ago, I witnessed a car crash in front of me and rushed to help. However, in my hurry, I forgot to put my Volvo into “P” or activate the parking brake, almost causing another accident. This made me wonder why there’s no safety option for this in our Volvo.

I can’t help but think that I’m not the only one who’s had this issue.

For all of You wondering if it is possible to retrofit the roofpanel with updated interior lights that was introduced MY2022 (For XC60)i can tell You it is not possible.
I have retrofitted a black interior roof and tried to get the roofpanel to work on my MY2020. In the old panel the buttons for On call etc are wired to the VCM module, in the new module this is communicated via Lin and the SIM card holder is moved from the passenger footwell to the Roof Module. 
Further more the connectors and the installation frame is different and the SIM card is in the roof module instead of the passenger footwell.
So according to my knowledge it is not possible. I swapped the installation frame (glued) and put in an "old" roof panel.
