Does Personal SIM config work in android automotive? |

Does changing the config option to personal SIM enable data using said SIM? For users who have Android Automotive in countries where the data connectivity is not supported, inserting a SIM in the slot does absolutely nothing. Don’t have a cable yet to get PINs and test this out.
Has anyone had success with this?

Default to active high beams? |

Hi all,
Is there a way -- via Orbit or another -- to enable active high beams by default when the headlights are in the "auto" position?
In my North American MY23 XC40 Recharge, I need to twist the spring-loaded stalk switch each time I turn the car on.
I saw a YouTube video by Bjorn Nyland, where it seemed like this was possible in a European Polestar 2 (https://youtu.be/BlUZfGMqv_g?t=160). Notice the active high beam symbol is present on the dash when he re-enters the car.
Thanks!

Adding 110/230V POWER OUTLET TUNNEL (VDN code: PG03)? |

Hey!
Maybe someone already investigated and can advise.
I have added power outlet to rear side of center console, as found out that wiring and plug was inside console from factory.
Checked wring to passenger side fusebox, fuse is also installed. Looks that wiring to CEM also should be, but not checked yet.
But, as per conversation with dealer , there should be some option activated in CEM to activate power for this particular outlet.
And as usual dealer says, that as this is not from accessories catalogue, they cannot do anything...
So at the moment this outlet not powered up.
Checked in OrBit, and cannot find anything related to this. Did I miss it? Or there is no such option?

Volvo C40 Exterior Lighting Logic |

Can anyone with a Volvo C40 that isn't located in Canada provide their settings for the following:
107: EXTERIOR LIGHT LOGIC
108: DRL TYPE
116: DRL TECHNOLOGY
I'm trying to get my lights to function a certain way and am not having any luck with the combinations of those settings that I have tried. I think the ones I am trying are conflicting with each other. I'll outline below what is happening in each light switch position with my factory defaults:
O: DRL and position lights are on
POS: No change from O, DRL and position lights are on
HEADLIGHT: Headlights on, DRL half brightness, position lights are on
What I want to achieve is:
O: DRL is on without position lights
POS: DRL and position lights are on
HEADLIGHT: (no change)
Right now, I can mostly achieve this with setting "01 Dedicated daytime running light (DDRL) not together with position light" under "107 EXTERIOR LIGHT LOGIC". However, what's happening is that a side marker light on the headlight is not turning on as required. Everything else turns on just fine. Any ideas...?
Thanks.

Hi,
I need to replace drive units of the tailgate.
I have information that I need to go to the official dealer to update software for new drive units, otherwise will work only button on the tailgate (no remote etc.).
May be it is possible to set up using Orbit?

How does OrBit config affect OTA updates? Will my car get blocked? |

Questions come up from time to time, on how OrBit config interacts with OTA updates, and if your car can get blocked. The safest advice has been to "Restore OEM" before accepting an OTA update. That is always the safest thing to do.
We now have enough acquired knowledge to give a better idea of how these things play together. Note always there is a disclaimer that Volvo can change anything at any time without consulting me, this is just to the best of our knowledge currently (May 2023)
Sensus: Sensus updates are only maps and Sensus apps updated OTA. There is no worry of OrBit config being present when you accept updates. Sensus app updates do update the software list in VIDA for the car, with the part numbers of the updated app(s) but no config is sent up or compared.
Android: OTA updates are more extensive here covering the AAOS system and flashing some modules. Like Sensus it has been found there is no worry of OrBit configs being present when an OTA update is accepted and installed. Config is not sent up or compared in the OTA update process. However modules can be flashed as part of an OTA update, including the CEM so *note*: running an OTA update, sometimes includes a flash of config files to the CEM, which can wipe out any OrBit configs. You can use OrBit to change config items back to the settings you like of course. Just be aware that running an OTA update may wipe the OrBit configs until you set them again. The effect of an OTA update wiping OrBit config is exactly what happens when you run "Restore OEM" process in Orbit.
This does not apply to updates installed through VIDA!(Not OTA) Always "Restore OEM" before the car is connected to VIDA, if at all possible.
