Since I wanted to track my configuration from the beginning, I started fresh today.
I performed an OEM restore, which worked without any issues.
After that, I installed several configurations using Orbit, and everything seemed fine at first.
However, after reading all the DTCs, I encountered an error:
IHU-U230056 – 2025/07/21 10:50:40 Central Configuration – System Programming Failures – Invalid/incompatible configuration
Test failed
Test failed during this monitoring/operational cycle
Just built a small but super useful tool for Orbit:
The Orbit Config Tracker.
It helps you keep track of your configuration history – and compare changes instantly.
With the Config Tracker you can:
View the full history of your Orbit .orb-files
Compare the last two config files side by side
Get all differences in a clean Excel export
Spot changes instantly – no more guessing
What you need to do:
Save your config every time you connect with Orbit
Store it in a specific folder
Use the filename format:
"dd.mm.yyyy_hh.mm.orb"
Two modes: Direct Comparison Mode
Compares the two most recent .orb-files
Opens a new window with all differences
Creates an Excel file with the changes
History Mode
Scans all .orb-files
files in the folder
Ignores already indexed configs
Adds only new ones to the log
Opens a summary window + generates an Excel (auto-overwrites)
I originally built this tool for myself, but I'm happy to share it with anyone who finds it useful.
If you run into any issues, I'd really appreciate your feedback.
I'm also always open to suggestions for improvement!
So about 2 months ago I had to have my windshield replaced. it was replaced by safelight, and a calibration was performed and documented. I hadn't had any issues with it until this week, but wanted to identify that it was recently serviced.
On Monday of this week I was driving home and I had a pop up error on my dash: "City Safety - Reduce functionality Service Required" followed by a few others as I fooled around trying to activate some the other features tied to the module. ACC and Pilot assist.
over the course of ownership I have had a handful of miscellaneous messages pop up, but they've always gone away after a few minutes or after a restart. This one hasn't. I started reading up on it online and it seems to point towards the ASDM unit (radar and camera assembly above the rear view mirror)
Yesterday I fired up orbit to try and clear the code and reset the ASDM, it looks like I put it into a calibration mode. It looks like I started it, but was unable to complete it as it didn't list any of the steps that needed to be follow in order to complete the calibration. But after driving the car (having made no adjustments to the physical camera) I was able to get the road sign recognition to come back online, so something is still working.
My windshield drains are clear, there doesn't appear to be any water in the ceiling.
I found the attached video online which covers some of the calibration process, and looks like it requires a calibrating level to complete it, and a mix of translation for the driving procedure.
Has anyone had any luck with servicing the ASDM from home? Is orbit capable of doing this procedure.
and in the event that the ASDM is bad, can I program a used one to replace it using orbit? or do I need to bite the bullet and replace it with a new part?
and below is a photo of the road sign recognition coming back online.
Can I code a new headlight module using ORBIT software? I have a new, unused module for the left active high beam headlight, and an old one that's causing problems — the LED and turn signals start fading after a few minutes. The old module came from a headlight that was damaged in a collision; the headlight itself didn’t survive, but the module appears to be intact. The right, original headlight works fine; the problem only affects the left side. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and found a solution?
Now I have a message that the passenger is always present in the seat. I converted the European passenger seat and switched the passenger presence sensor from European to US, to a gel cushion. I've already checked and it seems that the leather seat cushion cover (32357793) and the seat cushion foam (31498851) all match the American market. I've already completely disconnected the leather cover to relieve pressure on the sensor, but it didn't help. Only when I lift the seat cushion a little does the message about the passenger presence disappear, so the sensor is working. I kept installing the sensor from my old seats and the sensor still signals about the passenger. I disconnected the battery and waited, it didn't help either.
In the ECU Tools section in the SRS subsection there is a position #205D - occupant weight sensor (ows) calibration response#, its diagnosed but how do I run this calibration? Now when diagnosing (5B4C) there are no errors on the sensor but it shows that the sensor has "small weight".
How can I calibrate the occupant weight sensor (OWS)? Is such a calibration operation even possible?
I had a 2019 Volvo v60 that had the convenience pack optioned which meant there was an electronic seat release button in the boot. I have now got a 2022 but this one does not have that convenience pack, I was wandering if anyone has tried to install the switch in the boot to be able to fold them. Also if no ones done it before, does anyone have any insight as to what would be involved, whether its just connecting the switches to an already existing wiring harness or I have to wire it up with the harness and motor for the actuator?
