Polestar mode

Hello, I am a new owner of a second hand v90 T8 of 2020. The car drives well but in the acceleration there is a lag that I did not had on previous cars (petrol only): when I push the accelerator strongly there is at least a second lag where nothing happen and then it kicks-in.

I have asked the mechanics of Volvo to check and they say that it is normal, that I need to accelerate slowly....never heard that in other cars. Do you have the same issue? is it really normal and if yes did some of you see improvements with activating the polestar mode?

I am hesitating paying 200+ dollars for this, especially if you tell that there is a possibility that the car will be blocked by volvo for further updates....

My car had Polestar Optimization done by the dealer earlier this year and it improved the drivability no end.  And yes it now says Polestar instead of dynamic, the software was last updated last November the dealer tells me.  The power change is noticeable and the mid-range torque makes a lot of difference.

I am quite disillusioned with Volvo though.  When they sorted out the the drive train issues they should have simply included them with the next software update.  When I change my car next it will not necessarily be a Volvo, this and the whole attitude of the Company (blocking updates etc) has put me right off.

I give my XC90 10 years or if it dismantles itself for the 3rd time, then change to highend Merz.
Btw imo all Covid and Post-Covid cars are an electronical and mechanical waste up to day. The problems and the careless designs multiplied all the actual problems of the newly manufactured cars by tenfold in the past 5 years. And not only cars, 10% of the electronics sold are plain garbage, and up to 40-50% there are major flaws appearing within months or in 1-2 years. 
If I hated my MY 2019 for any reasons, I still wouldn't want to buy any new cars at the moment. I would just buy a completely new D5 engine and replace it.

i have enabled polestar optimizations  in my v90cc Mild B4 diesel, now there is new drive mode Polestar enginered which at least changed how transmission works. But can i try other setting also without ruining engine? There is also available "Performance mode" setting anybody tried it? what does it give and is there some description available for each setting? If not maybe we could do something like wiki page where everyone can add info and supported models.

Performance mode we believe relates to air suspension. It's no engine impacting.

So I got orbit to work and great program for the price.  I am going  to start a thread with my setting and see what others changed. 
 I did notice on mine it had the police mode.it actually had. Few modes under it including  a swat mode. I can not find any info on what the modes are. I will post a picture when I log in again. Any info on what the modes are? Thanks

You're all playing with a model designation as opposed to the setting for Polestar enablement.. 

To be clear here; you are getting the Polestar gearbox / throttle map only by changing the appropriate setting, it's an enhanced Dynamic mode. You are not getting the AWD bias changes, nor are you getting the engine tune. 

Performance mode relates to the air suspension. 

There isn't a special police mode either... trust us... we have all the configuration tables.

Some information for people with 2018 XC60 T6 R-Design.

Changed to 02 Polestar Optimization. After driving in dynamic mode for the past number of years, i can confidently say that the car feels more spirited when going through the gears in Polestar mode. There is a noticeable difference for me.

Does anyone have a sensus car without drive mode selector knob and which has factory Polestar optimization installed in workshop?

If someone has a car like this I'm curious to know about couple of details:
Is there a switch somewhere in sensus where you can activate polestar drive mode or is it always on when not in eco mode?
If someone who uses orbit does have a car like this, could you kindly send your oem configuration .orb file for me please?

I'm asking because I have V90 -17 without drive mode knob and I haven't found a solution to get drive modes working. I can get them visible in sensus(polestar settings also) but they are not working. Steering wheel personalisazion doesn't work neither.
I would like to know how factory polestar optimization behaves in car like this and is the gearbox part of optimization done by changing these configurations what we can change by orbit or is it done by flashing a new software like engine and AWD part. This information might also help to find out a solution to get drive modes working. I still believe a little that this can be done in S/V90 somehow.
