Where do I find this then? I wanted to enable this on my T8.

This isn't something you enable per se. Its a service routine which would be started in a workshop for testing of a vehicle. When you start the routine, it'll run only for the duration the car is started - I suspect you won't be logging in to OrBit each and every time you drive?

Ok clear. So for the time being no way of 'enabling' gear changing on D by just changing a setting (meaning no rewiring from paddleshifters or something)?

Then I had to do some wiring "Added three wires" from the SWM to the gear shift connector. I enabled the paddle shifters via Orbit and walla, it functions just as I described earlier. I did not do anything else.
What you are describing is strange, VOLVO might have changed the software.
The "Gear indicator" setting in your screen shot is most likely same as Orbit setting 037 GEARSHIFT INDICATOR (00 without / 01 with) which is for the manual transmission. Mine is 00 - without from factory and I still have the gear indicator when I shift manually in D mode.

Can you describe in a bit more detail what you did? Which 3 wires, from where to where? Any photos you took? The orbit setting?
