ok..dumb questions. looking at the volvo parts page this shows its only applicable to 23-25 XC90s. would this work in the earlier spa vehicles? i have a 2019 XC60 and 90 and would love to do this if it fits? i am thinking the answer is yes..but wanted to check before ordering

Yes, it will work perfectly, it has the same connector. In fact, more than one person has already done it.
If you look at the previous post, you have a screenshot with part codes compatible with XC60 SPA.

¿Sabéis si haciendo esta actualización podremos tener Android Auto sin cable USB?

I really don't understand why swap from USB to USBc and get into all that trouble when there is a simple and cheap solution
I tested it with iphone and android, works perfectly.

the only reason is more power for charging phones, as usb c has more compared to usb a

I actually bought a 2 pack of those. They're fine for what they are but drive me nuts because they stick out now.

It has nothing to with the port type it's about the output amperage and both types supports up to 5 amps.  For example you can have an  USB-C wall adapter with 1,5amp and a regular USB wall adapter with 2.1 amp.  The regular would charge your USB-C phone faster than the other one.

Volvo's both oem USB-C and USB-a are up to 2.2 amp. So, if you had any difference in the charging speed, it's the cable and not the output.
