Seems like some used keys can't be programmed to the car ("Programming Fault" error message). But other used ones programmed successfully to the same car.

Does someone know maybe some keys need to be erased ?

Sorry if this has already been posted, but anyone in the UK this seems like a bit of a bargain, it says C40 but I programmed one to my XC60 with Orbit…

"Program Error" is most likely, just a bad key. I would always try a fresh battery of course, to be sure it is not just that. 

I don't actually know...what error you get when you have too many keys programmed. But you can have a total of 12, so most people probably won't hit that. Good idea to have a dispaly of how many keys in OrBit, I will add that to my list of things. When you program a key successfully it tells you which "slot" it is, that is how many keys total, so "Key program successful, slot 6" for example, that means you have 6 key fobs programmed to the car. 

The feedback from the CEM that OrBit translates to the return message from trying to add a key, is pretty basic. Program Error means the key was detected successfully, but the CEM had some error trying to pair it.

No steps forward for pin retrieving for more CEM versions?

Just to add my penniworth.

OrBit successfully has programmed 2 orange MS keys to my MY19 XC60 but throws a dtc CEM-B14DE05 Programming failure which OrBit would not clear.  The keys work well.

I took the car to a Volvo independant who used VIDA on it and concluded that the CEM needs new firmware, part nr 31419581 which is only available with a new fob, estimated total cost of £200.  VIDA was able to clear the dtc!

I have an Aliexpress sport fob coming and I will first check if it is giving out a signal strength comparable to the orange ones before I try and program it.

One thing about the orange keys, although they work well I can't pair a profile to either of them.  That could be because my CEM firmware is not up to date but could it be that restricted keys can't be paired?  Anyone paired restricted keys successfully?

Someone mentioned 3d printing of sport fob cases, anyone got a link to the 3d design?

Just adding to this. I purchased two orange keys and was able to program them with no issues. I also have no care key profile set up on my car ('20 V60CC - Canada) from the factory. However, I'm unable to pair the programmed keys to a profile. Not the end of the world, just an odd quirk. Sensus pop up reads that no key was found, even when it unlocks and starts the car, and the fob is in the cupholder reader position.

If there's any way to troubleshoot/fix this, I'm all ears.

It is a feature! Probably to avoid the care key user being able to circumvent restrictions.

Even when no care key came with the car? I was under the impression it then acted as a regular key in that case. 

Any way to make it operate like a black key? I did unlock with the black key and tried then switching to programming the orange one as I've read others do. But no luck.

Is there a special nack for getting the sports key up and running? 

The first one i got a hold of was a hit/miss, i got it programmed but would not unlock my car with keyless entry, i changed battery (i know...) and still nothing after that.
Now i bought another key that was allegedly working 2 months ago and still nothing when i try to open my doors.

Read up a bit, seems to be a known issue. Sad.

I also had alot of errors "key not found", i just had the fob laying down in the cupholder, when that did not work i just flipped it over and it worked the next time around.
