Guidance for a new orbit user
#1
Hi everyone, Smile

New member here — i have a 2018 XC60 D4 (no AdBlue), AWD, Momentum Comfort, and just bought OrBit to dig into a few features my car doesn't have from the factory:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Pilot Assist
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (Sign Assist)
  • CarPlay & Android Auto (Device Mirroring)
  • Disable Stop/Start
  • Audible locking feedback
  • Polestar theme/skin

From searching the forum and a few videos, here's what I've found so far for the simpler ones:

224. DEVICE MIRRORING With Carplay & Android Auto
271. STOP START FUNCTION MEMORY Button with memory, Standard symbol
096. AUDIBLE LOCKING FEEDBACK On
168. SCREEN THEMES/SKINS Polestar

Still need confirmed working values for ACC, Pilot Assist, and Sign Assist on a D4 of this model year — if anyone's done this on a similar car, I'd really appreciate the exact settings.

Quick question for the more experienced folks: is it better to do all these changes in one session, or one at a time? Mainly wondering about whether back-to-back writes are hard on the battery Smile . Any general tips for a first-timer would be great too.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there, For all of those options you should use the config wizzard inside Orbit and select ACC&PA, CP&AA and the rest. Only exception will be polestar theme the actual list and then write to the car Smile

Done this on several times so far no issues Smile The whole process takes around 10 minutes with the initial profile update and changes.

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed explanation! That's very helpful. I'll use the config wizard in OrBit and select ACC&PA, CP&AA and the rest as you suggested.

Great to hear it's been smooth so far and only takes around 10 minutes — that's reassuring!

Does orbit checks whether the vehicle's hardware is compatible with the following features, and so if it's compatible it's possible via the configuration wizard?

• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
• Pilot Assist
• Traffic Sign Recognition (Sign Assist)

Best regards

That's the reason for the wizard, to select the appropriate settings based on the hardware level of the car Wink

I am not really sure but i think in the wizard i had a level to choose which my car doesnt support because of missing hw in that generation, so i would not bet the wizard only offers possible things, i think its more a set of common changes.

I just guess Smile
