Break pads replacement - should I restore OEM?
#1
Hi,
In the near future, I’m planning to replace the front and rear brake pads, but not at an official Volvo service center - instead at a workshop that specializes in several car brands. As far as I know, they use VIDA. the only change I made using Orbit was unlocking Pilot Assist. I’m not planning to do any system upgrades or anything else there besides replacing the brake pads.
Should I revert my Orbit changes back to the default settings, or can I leave everything as it is? For more context, it's V60 from 2021 (Sensus), Europe

If they're not plugging it into VIDA then you are fine.

It might be a stupid question, but isn’t connecting to VIDA a standard procedure when replacing rear brake pads (because of the electronic parking brake)? I mean just retracting the caliper pistons to the service position.
Can simply 'plugging it into VIDA' cause any issues due to the changes made with Orbit, or would problems only occur if someone tried to download new software or something like that?

Always better to revert to OEM, but you don't have to put in service mode to change them there are other ways... but if they have it they will likely use the function.
