BE ADVISED! VIDA detects any module replacement or addition!
#81
Hi again!

So i went to the dealer with the AUD and EGSM Mudule (Orrefors glass shifter) changed to original and the power seats disconnected (I disconnected the CAN wires to be 100% sure).
Used Orbit for revert to OEM.
I had explicitly asked for a configuration test but as i came to the dealer the guy was sick and i was assigned another tech. He did not want to speak about it so he just run the software update and clicked Yes on all questions resulting in an AUD and EGSM software reload, which costed 250 Euro... I later got a discount when i spoke to the tech i had ordered the work from, he claimed that config test wouldnt have solved the problem...
But the upgrade was done and now everything works fine.
I put back the AUD and EGSM and connected the seats and programmed everything with Orbit and everything works perfect.
Concerning the Wireless phone charger i programmed it with button and it works perfect. The button works and i get a message on the screen when the charger is active and cautions if it is not working due to things on the charger.
So VIDA detected the AUM and EGSM long ago and as You guys said that remains in the memory no matter what You do.
My plan is to not have any more software updates from the dealer, and if it would be necessarily i would make sure that i revert every HW to stock.

Only have one question left:
If i go to a service and they connect VIDA to reset the service reminder or check DTC i assume that VIDA then checks all the modules and detect software changes?

Many thanks again for really good answers so far.

Short answer YES.
VIDA is a %100 online tool connected to the VOLVO servers.  The old version needed online access only for software reloads and local DB updates.

With the new version of Orbit, can we update our cars without going through "Vida"?

You can install software yes. But you'll need the relevant files.

Can you provide the car's update software?

I'll also need to reload the SWM module software; can you help me with that?

Does this mean it can install Sensus updates?
