2018 XC40
#1
Hi,
Gotten a 2018 XC40 T4 Momentum (with standard Lane Keep Assist, Standard Cruise Control). Enjoying the car but miss features like BLIS, 360 camera and front fog light (for the cornering blinker).
I've managed to hold of a supplier able to provide all necessary parts/wirings and an installer confident of setting up all hardware.
Thing is, supplier is only able to remote program/activate all these after installation which i'm pretty unsure if totally possible.
Can i check if after installation of the above, will i be able to use OrBit to activate and get them running how they should?
Is someone able to advise what, which settings I should use?
Lastly, anything else that I can enable with OrBit which doesn't require hardware?
Really appreciate any kind response, thanks.

Hi,

Anyone can offer any insights?

I’m also looking at replacing gear shifter with the crystal shifter.
Can anyone advise if it’s a plug and play?
Found one but seller is unsure if it fits my model year.

Yes, you can activate the functions with Orbit.

Hi,

I’ve finally installed my 360, BLIS and front fog lights.
Activated with Orbit but only the 360 is working, altho’ I don’t get a full view and the picture resolution is not the highest. BLIS and CTA buttons appear but BLIS button has a yellow exclamation on it. Finally the front fog lights, I selected LED in Orbit but doesn’t turn on after I push to turn it on on the light stalk.

Anyone with any idea where I might have gone wrong?

Anyone has any inputs to help?
I connected BLIS to the car can-high and low (green and white), same wires as the WAM connection but BLIS still doesn’t work. I ran Orbit read DTC and it shows errors but didn’t capture the code.
Front fog lights were connected to pin 12 & 72 of CEM and activated via Orbit (front fog -LED & cornering lights) but nothing happens when I tried to turn on via the left stalk.

I know I’ve been bugging this forum for these items but I really have no where to turn to.

Really appreciate any inputs.

The FOG lights should be connected to EN connector on PINs 12 Left Front and 72 Right Front.
Try with these settings.
113 FOGLIGHT/FUNCTION IN SPOILER == 02
115 FRONT FOGLIGHT, FUNCTION IN SPOILER == 02

I've already enabled these settings.
Nothing happens.
Checked and recheck that the connections go to PIN 12 & 72.
Really wonder what's wrong.

Since you've enabled the cornering lights, you should have the button to enable it.  Have you tested if the cornering lights function correctly?
Enable the cornering lights from the center screen, turn on the headlights low beam and turn the steering wheel left and right. Left or right footlight should turn on as you are turning the steering wheel.  When you put the car in R, both of them should turn on.

If the cornering lights does not function, Your CEM might be a medium or low variant that might not have the actual pins or the software.  Or you have a wiring problem. Led fog lights does not work with reversed polarity.
If the cornering lights work but the fog lights button on left stalk does not work, your SWM does not passt the signal.

How should i know or test if my car has the low or medium CEM?
I retrofitted 360 and enabled via Orbit and it worked.
Does this have any correlation to the types of CEM i have?

My headlights are on auto and if i depress the fog light button in day time, the headlights come on (when it shouldn’t cause there’s light). And if I deactivate the fog light, the headlight goes off.
I’ve already the cornering light in the Center screen and enabled

Take picture of it. There is label on it. Where "low, medium or high" should be printed.

WAM (360) module is a CAN node and operates independently to CEM. The config you have changed for it just enables the option in IHU

This is normal based on the setting you have but it shows that SWM module is communicating and sending the correct message.
So, either your wiring is wrong or your CEM does not actually have the pins to send power to fog lights.
