1. Yes. Small improvement if you keep the HK speakers and major improvement if you exchange HK speakers for B&W speakers.

2. It depends on your system. I run high performance and went for the HK sub 4 ohms impedance. Without extra amplifier the sound was a bit meh. Adding a designated amp in the trunk made the sound picture complete. The sub with amp makes the difference. I tried to activate 210 02 with subwoofer but nothing happened. No power on pin 8/16 or 6/14 (wich are my free pins in my green plug of my 5 fin amplifier).

4. No, it's a plugnplay job. I had no speaker cable pre installed so I ran the front woofer signals to my aftermarket amp and from there to the subwoofer. Only space I lost was a square in the trunk were the non existing spare should be. 30x20x5cm. You don't see anything of the installation without lifting the trunk lid.

My amp has hi level on option so no need for rem.
Everything is now ready, but subwoofer seems to be broken. I have to send it back to dealer. There is no impedance at all when testing element with voltmeter / impedancemeter. Also tried give power from 9v battery to sub but nothing happened.
Have to wait week or two to get new sub.
I got new sub yesterday and now it works perfectly
I've ordered a B&W sub. Fortunately, the seller also had the wiring plugs from the B&W set. Decided the full B&W system is a bit pricey - will consider it later if one pops up for a good price.
How did you run the wire from the AUD to the sub? Is there a factory diagram or something? 3226602632266026

I pulled wire under floor carpet and under back seat to trunk. It was pretty easy way and it is completely unvisible.
I didn't have any wiring diagram so I don't know Is there some better way to do it.
The next upgrade is to add two Harman Kardon center dash speakers instead of the one I have with my High Performance system. Any chance someone has done that and could share your experience?
Where is the HK tweeter (smaller) speaker is to be connected to?
The mid (larger) speaker is to be connected to the AUD 10/2 pins. My XC90 already has a plug for it and the wires running to the white plug behind the passenger's footwell. So, I'm going to just take it from there and run to the AUD.
My current HP tweeter is not connected to the AUD. ChatGpt says that the current tweeter runs to the IHU and only used the system sounds and not music. Chat says the tweeter is eventually to be connected to the same AUD 10/2 pins but I cannot find any confirmation online.
Should the tweeter wires just be simply joined with the mid channel?
I activated sub using orbit but there is no signal at all. I tried both of free pins without luck. Using voltmeter and speaker -> nothing.
I got subwoofer level adjustiment on sensus but that's all. Tried lock doors for 10 minutes, also tried reset AUD and IHU using Orbit. So maybe there is no output for subwoofer in this model of amp.
Next I should find out which wired goes to front doors woofers. Does anybody have wiring diagram for amp like this (5 fins top of amp)? Maybe I have to crap signal there.
The sub channel is dead since an update in about 2020. I pm:d Andrew about reverting AUD-software but no respons yet. I guess his plate is rather full ?

Are you saying that the sub channel has been deactivated on te 5 fin amplifier? Does anyone know if the sub channel can be activated on the 8 fin amp still? I have a 2020 V60 with the 8 fin amp and was going to pull the trigger on adding the oem HP sub to my system but only if I can activate the sub channel still.
