changes in codes for Polestar 2 software 3.6.2
#1
I took the OTA update for Polestar 2 software 3.6.2. Went back in with Orbit to check on entry 109 for Pixel headlights; it has been reset so I fixed that. Also went to check entry 106 for high beam memory, and it has been replaced with something entirely different: "Headlights, Type" with settings A-11 (hex). The P2 is set to 11, "LED, Type A, Pixel Headlamp with HCM" Which seems OK, but now I'm wondering where to set the high beam memory function so I don't have to turn the auto high beam ring every time I get in the car. I scrolled up and down the code list and couldn't find anything obvious. Any ideas?

Not sure where you're located but for me the US adaptive headlight setting did not work after the OTA update. I tried the EU/ROW spec and that did work although it seems it's behaves slightly different.. slower perhaps?

California here. I set the EU/ROW spec as well but haven't done a lot of testing yet.

3.6.4 here and it no longer keeps ADB active across ignition cycles, either.

I'm wondering if there's something we can do with the HCM itself?

edit: I used to run type B - which seems to behave differently than Type A. I haven't switched to B to see if it retains the settings.

Just figured it out.  The lights have to be set to type "B" not type "A".  That allows the persistent setting.

Interesting. I'll give it a shot.

Logic may well have been updated. If others confirm then Power6 will have to add a specific note here!

Hey all

I think we are seeing Volvo decided to change some behavior in the cars with updates. I am fairly sure the place this actually "lives" is inside the CEM software. There is not a discrete config item that drives the "memory" of the Auto/Adaptive-beam being turned on. But historically, for whatever reason, on North American (NA) cars, the setting would always default to off on start up. And folks had found setting the headlights type (Item 106) to the EU/Row "Type B" version of their equipment, would then enable the "memory" of the setting.

I found on my 2025 XC40 (US, with Pixel lights) that the Auto High Beam does have "memory" of the setting in the factory config. But I have not updated the car to the latest 3.6.x available for it yet. I think based on what you people are seeing, that the car will lose that setting memory next time I install updates. It's like Volvo made a mistake and is correcting it now. Maybe it's a regulatory issue why Volvo needs to make sure the setting defaults "off" on the NA cars.

NOTE with using the "Type B" setting. There don't seem to be ill effects but it's known for at least some of the headlights, the amber side marker lights are disabled with the config set to an EU/Row type light, because the EU/RoW headlights don't have those lights, they are a US requirement. I don't know of any other downsides.
