  • The windows, panoramic roof, and trunk will no longer open or close using the key button.
  • The trunk can only be opened using the foot sensor. From the interior button, the trunk door can be both opened and closed.

So the trunk doesn't open from the key fob.
The trunk does open from the foot sensor, the button under the dash, and the foot sensor.

Does the exterior button on the trunk work?

I use the fob to open the trunk pretty often, would be nice to retain that functionality as it saves me a few seconds getting stroller or junk in/out.

Is there a maximum duration for the remote start via key?

The app has a maximum of 15 minutes, but defaults to 8 and I need to use a slider to drag it to 15 every time I start the car, and even 15 leaves an incredibly short time window between car-somewhat-warm and car-turned-itself-off.

Still trying to mentally pro/con this...

Hi, this thread really helps me trying to get remote start working on my 2020 V60.

Mine have no VOC or even no SIM module, which makes remote starting from the app impossible anyway.

I found that configuring the car with the "Police" mode works!
What I've set:
045 - 05 ERS by key, running light
050 - 05 Police
276 - 10 Police Customs Unmarked

But, I lost:
- Kick activated auto trunk doesn't work
- Trunk key doesn't work
- Holding unlock/lock key to open/close all windows doesn't work
- Panic button doesn't work

Maybe I need to change some more configs to get the trunk key to work again?

The key start works on my XC40, I haven't lost any functions, the windows work with the key, the tailgate works without any problems.

I have 045-02

Just to confirm your configuration:
45 - 02
50 - 05
276 - 10

My xc40 2021 Sensus also works only with changes for 276.
But it lost buttons functionality as mentioned before (Windows and Trunk control)

Small updates here:

Currently, ERS works with no issues or limitations.
The key fob works flawlessly as well.

Configuration:
45 - key + phone app
50 - Police
276 - VIP

And one thing that I've noticed. If you'll write those configs to the car in one go — a key fob loses windows and trunk functionality.
But when you update 275 config first, and then update 45 — all should work well, including key fob functions.

Seems like 276 configs could have some influence on a windows and trunk functionality (maybe for the police type it's expected to be disabled). And by updating 45 — you update those functions back.

I'm not sure if that will resolve all the issues for the rest of cars, but I've tried it a few times and every time it worked for me in this way.

Furthermore, ERS could not work right after the configs update. But if you'll press the lock button twice and hold — you should see either the actual engine start, or the "engine check" icon flashing one or two times. For me, that was an indication that EMS functionality is working. After a few minutes, you should be able to start a car remotely.
