Total BS! Scambags! The IHU is the same f*cking Mitsubishi unit made in Japan. Software is the same, except the Sirius XM. The EU markets do not have the chip inside, the rest is exactly the same. 
Get yourself a 3 Day VIDA subscription and do it yourself.  


Regarding the VCM, I do not know.

Unfortionetly you can not get EU VCM working on us market car and vice versa. Been there done that. I also have US market S90L in EU and just disabled VOC services from VCM and bought VDD.

Ah got it, happen to know the technical reason behind?
My theory has been that maybe they have regional VoC servers and cars/VINs are not loaded across..
Happy with the VDD so far?

VDD with latest firmware works great! At first couple of years ago when I got it had some bugs but now its ok.
About VCM.. I have a contact on VOLVO software development in Sweden and I discussed it with him. He explained me why its not possible. First of all it US an EU VCM have different GSM standards. Second its not possible to get EU VCM to match with US CEM and vice versa. Technically it is possible but with official software's its not. Even if you get brand new VCM for EU vehicle and connect it to car then VIDA will show you middle finger and tell you that is has wrong HW part number and no software download possible. Even if u will manage to get new VCM matched to car unofficially then still serial numbers don't match with one in VOLVO servers. Worst case you will end up with car blocked from VOLVO. Same is with parts.. ETC you change your steering rack and you have PSCM with serial number 00004 then you can't swap it with used one witch has serial number lower than 00004 . If you put with serial number 00001 on car then VIDA again won't let you make PSCM reload.
