Random MIL & Brake Warning Lights (ESC/ABS) after Polestar/VMax flash - V60 MY21 Mild
#1
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on a recurring issue with a customer's car after flashing the CCF.
Vehicle: Volvo V60 MY2021 (B-Series Mild Hybrid, Sensus).
Modifications Applied:
  • ID 044: 250 km/h (VMax)
  • ID 374: 02 (Polestar Optimization)
  • ID 057: 03 (Drive Mode Digital UI on IHU - No physical scroll wheel present)
The Issue: The flash goes through perfectly and the car runs great. However, while driving, the car randomly throws the Check Engine Light (MIL) along with various brake/chassis warning lights (ESC / ABS / Parking Brake). Important note: the car does not go into Limp Mode and there is no power loss. Polestar mode works perfectly, but the dash lights up like a Christmas tree.
What I've already tried: I know that ID 057 = 03 without the physical wheel triggers the
Code:
ECM-U230056
ghost code, but that usually doesn't trigger the dashboard MIL. To fix the brake lights, I have performed the "ABS Clear Config" in the OrBit Services tab multiple times, followed by "Clear All DTCs" and a full 15-20 minute Deep Sleep (key fob far away). Unfortunately, the calibration doesn't seem to stick, and the warnings come back.
My questions for the community:
  1. Has anyone experienced this specific VDDM/brake module freakout on the newer B-Series / 48V architectures?
  2. Could the brake warnings be chained to the
    Code:
    ECM-U230056
mismatch code? Would reverting ID 057 to
    Code:
    01
(sacrificing the IHU button) permanently solve both the MIL and the ABS/ESC warnings?

I have already emailed support with the modified profile, but I wanted to see if anyone here has cracked this yet.
Thanks in advance!

Johnny.

I am with the same spec car and do not have any of those issues. MY21 V60 B4 Diesel Sensus Momentum Pro from Germany. The only difference is that i have the roller from factory.
V60 B4 2021 Sensus Mods:
- ACC&PA
- Start/Stop with memory
- Limit removed
- Cornering Lights
- Homelink integration
- Alarm Siren

Thanks for the reply!
The physical roller from the factory is definitely the key difference here. Since your car has the hardware, you don't get the ECM-U230056 mismatch DTC that I am currently dealing with.
Just out of curiosity, did you also flash the Polestar Optimization (ID 374: 02) along with your other mods?
I am trying to isolate whether my dashboard ABS/ESC warnings are a direct chain reaction from the missing physical wheel (having ID 057 set to 03 without the hardware), or if it's some specific conflict involving the Polestar flash on the B-Series network.

Thanks again for the feedback!
