I have emailed Andrew also but maybe you guys could support me with my issue. I have a V60 2020 with HK (converted from HP)
I just had a loan-v60 with HK and borrowed my neightbours XC60 with HK. Thought the audio was superior to my retrofitted HK.
So i started listening around and i noticed that my mids in the rear where dead, also my headline speakers. Also my front mids are alive but sound.. bad. I have just come from measuring continuity on my headline cables and they are flawless. So im starting to look at my amp. My amp is a strange story.. so the guy i bought it from claims it was from a V60 but it gave me fault codes for speakers that only exist on V90's. So speaking with Andrew about this i got files to flash my amp from V90 to V60 as hardware is the same. After this i THINK my speakers where working, all faults where cleared anyway, altough my wife has always complained about bad sound in the back (cant hear lyrics). I also reset my car and insert HP amp before service, could this action or sequence in doing things have made my HK amp freak out? i just tried reflashing it now to no avail.
EDIT: or perhaps my hardware is just faulty and needs replacing?

You did not mention if you have replaced your speakers or just the AUD. The HK speakers produces much better sound than the HP standard ones.
The original HP (High Performance) comes with different variants (W or WO) SUB and Center speaker.
Having the speaker grill on the dash does not mean that you actually have the center speaker under it. There is a second small speaker there for car's system speaker that is common for all VOLVO models. Since the dashboard is exactly the same across all trims and 60 series, VOLVO fits a grill there covering the space.
Use plastic trim tool to pull up the grill and check if you actually have center speaker there. If you don't, you will need to rewire it to the AUD. HK and B&W system must have the center speaker.
If you are interested, I have a full HK set from S60 (same as V60) plug and play for sale. No flashing is required, just a config change in Orbit from HP to HP Plus.
1 HK AUD
4 Woofers (2 front doors and 2 rear doors)
2 MID (2 front doors)
4 Tweeters (4 Doors)
1 Center speaker with HK grill
2 Rear bench / back pillar speakers.

Hi!
All speakers are also swapped and all pins configured to HK spec. Wires for sub, center and headline are present and pinned in.

If I use Orbit to enable the subwoofer output, if/when I go to Volvo to get a software update will the configuration change get reset?

Yes, all settings you've done with Orbit will be reset.
