Hi- I posted this in the general questions section but no one responded. I just got a 2019 XC90 Momentum T6 ( I also have a 1983 242 GLT- I like Volvos !!). My T6 only came with one key fob which led me here. I haven't purchased the program yet but intend to do so as I think it's a much better deal than a 3 day VIDA license and from what it seems much more user friendly. My first question is I am mostly a Mac user but am familiar with Windows from work. If I download the program onto my Macbook Pro and OrBit doesn't run right or connect to my car using virtual Windows in the MBP, can I then load the program onto a Windows laptop that I can borrow? I guess the question is can the OrBit program be loaded onto more than one computer using the same license for the same car? My next question is opinions on key fobs. Any thoughts on new non-genuine fobs available online (Amazon, Ebay) vs used genuine Volvo fobs (mostly Ebay)?
I'm looking forward to using the program as I like to do basic maintenance on my cars myself. Thanks !

Hi
Do all you guys use a battery support device for when using Orbit? I notice it won’t run the software with engine running and if I’ve only got ignition on, my voltage can drop and don’t want to encounter an issue.

In 4 years of tinkering, I have never hooked my car up....
Flash is a couple of mins, no real increased draw than sitting in car with radio on and lights. If you're just browsing OrBit, run engine. Turn off for flash and you should be good.

BMW ECU flashing seems to draw a lot of power, hence power supply req. Volvo appears to be OK. Good few thousands users and I haven't seen any bricking reports yet!!

Certainly don’t want to be the first you’ve known ha, but good to know you’ve not heard of any troubles. I do have a CTek that can supply 10A as a power supply, I know it’s nowhere near a true power supply output. I suppose I could maybe hook that up as an added extra possibly. Again though, thank you for the help. Much appreciated.

My V90 -17 takes about 17A when ignition on and lights off. It took about 10min for the voltage to drop below 12V when ignition on. 10A didn't help very much in my case but 25A charger can keep voltage high enough. I'd recommend powerfull charger or power supply. It is so much easier to work when you just plug your power supply and you don't have to hurry or keep watching the voltage all the time.
