BE ADVISED! VIDA detects any module replacement or addition!

Not true. If only VIDA recognises added ECUs.
First revert the car to OEM config.  You mentioned that the previous owner replaced the manual seats with the electric. Under the seat you have the seat controller. Just disconnect the power connector from it. while keeping all other (air bag, occupant detection sensor, ..)  connected. Disconnect the power to the WAM too.   So that VIDA does not detect those modules at all.

You will get CCM DTCs "added heating seat modules" but VIDA does not care about them at all. If you want to avoid it too, just disconnect the power. Most likely the previous owner used a fuse tab under the glove box.

Well, VIDA will certainly detect and show the added BLISS under HW changes because they are on the CAN BUS with WAM.  Then it will block the total upgrade.
You have two options.
1) Try to order BLISS (whatever showing up under HW changes) and install.
This is risky because after you purchase it and try to install, VIDA might not install it at all giving an error message "This software does not fit to your VIN"  VIDA will not warn you that this software does not fit before hand!  You may ask for refund from the VOLVO bookstore because of ordering wrong software.
If it does not install, you will need to disconnect the BLISS modules and then order and install configuration change software to clear out previously detected HW changes.
Once a HW change is detected is stays there forever regardless if the original equipment is installed or added module is removed before a new read out is performed even from a different VIDA or account until configuration test is order and installed to verify indeed the replaced or added module is removed.

2) Disconnect BLISS modules from their connectors before connecting VIDA to the car!

Thanks, guys!
I found some extremely valuable information in this thread Smile

During a regular service (oil change, etc.), is the service center able to detect modified software? For example, when deleting a service reminder? Is the inspection also deleted via VIDA?

This is a purely theoretical question, because I always restore the software to its original state before visiting the dealer.

In general No, they can delete the service reminders manually without VIDA. However, it really depends on the person who worked on the car. Some love vida and some hate the VIDA.

Hi!
Many thanks to all of You for an insightful thread.

So i need to update the car because of 2G/3G shutdown and need to revert to OEM, seems that they need to do a total update and not just that module.
Is there a revert to OEM function in Orbit or do i just reload from the first saved configuration?

Saw a lot of useful tips concerning electrical seats, what about the memorybuttons combined with lock buttons? Not easy to rewire to get back the lock buttons without memory, are they detected?

I have also changed the start/stop/Parkingbrake etc buttons, i assume they are not detected as they are hardwired as long as there is no "Drive Mode roll" in it.

Interesting information in the thread about the roofmodule as i changed that due to black roof, so i will change back to the old.

So in general i understand that everything connected to CAN and Most need to have the same HW, but what about LIN? I have changed sensors in the bumpers that i assume is LIN controlled, and the rear roof light? Will that also be detected as a HW change?

There is a revert to OEM button on the Orbit.  You can use that. It will revert all the custom config back to OEM values.  This is a must before the car is connected to VIDA. Otherwise, VOLVO will block the car for any software download and might also limit the diagnostic procedures because of the unauthorized configuration changes.

In general VOLVO detects only the changed configuration by third party tool (Orbit or any other) and the replaced (CAN bus, FLEXRAY and MOST) ECUs such as seat controllers, headlight controllers, AUD, SWM, BLISS, WAM and etc. However, there are some exceptions such as Alarm sensor, roof control unit that are directly connected to the CEM. The sensors or modules that are connected directly to the CEM, are detected.

Other replaced or added sensors, seat memory buttons, added heated / cooled seat modules (LIN slave ) are not detected since they are not flashable equipments.
