After swapping the aud from HP to HK on an XC90 and the front mid ranges and tweeter stoped working. Originally on HP they were wired via C connector.
I looked at the diagrams in this thread and it appears my system is "7A External Amplifier Audio 2 - High Performance w/wo Subwoofer (V526, V54x or L541)". So, the front doors only have one channel, e.g. C1/C9 left door. So it seems like I need to run another channel to each front door. Has anyone done that? Are the channels connected in the door itself or closer to the amp? Trying to understand how to lay out the wires

Hi, good afternoon.
First, check the connections and look for the wiring diagram. In the front area, I think the XC90 and XC60 have the same wiring diagram: two lines in the front doors, or at least mine does. If so, has the pinout changed? If you send me photos of your connectors showing the pinout, I can confirm what you have.

Here is the front door plug from my 2016 XC90. It seems like at has the following pins:
- 1, 4, 7, 8, 11, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24

Yes, you have two options: either find the same pins and add them, or enlarge the hole and pass the wires through. But send me a picture of the amplifier connectors and I'll confirm the changes you need to make. Make sure the wires are visible.

Do you remember what are the midrange and woofer pin numbers in the doors? Does it look like I only have one channel running to the doors?
I think I could find a used plug on eBay and use pins from it. Here is photos of the C and D AUD connectors:

-Do you have a center speaker? Or a subwoofer?
Are these the original cables or have you added any? The ones you have don't look right. Do you have no cables connected to the other connector? I think the problem is with the connector connections. Look at this diagram. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FMJ83PQ...p=drivesdk

Requested the access to that Gdrive file Got the file, what page is it?
Sorry, I couldn't see the photo properly.
The problem is here; you don't need to add any channels. You need to change those pins. I had the same problem. Change them and let me know how it goes. I've attached photos of my connectors, before and after. You still need to add the ceiling speakers, just like I did. My covers are due to arrive, and I'll install them then. |
