Trying to install the center dash speakers to a HP XC90. Anyone could share a photo or perhaps more details on where the other ends of the plugs are hidden in the AUD area?
EDIT: Found the other ends, they are terminated at the white plug under the passenger's footwell. Taped into them with generic splice terminals.

I'm trying to add two Harman Kardon center dash speakers instead of the one I have with my High Performance system. Need some help with sorting out wiring.
Should the tweeter wires just be simply joined with the mid channel?
I'm preparing to do a more humble version of this upgrade (Base to HK) on my 22' XC60 and was wondering if anyone could answer some questions for me.
As of now, I have: - A HK AMP from another XC60 - A full set of HK speakers from another XC60 - The HK grill for the center channel - Speaker grills for the headliner - Some extra pins and connectors for adding the extra outputs from the AMP - Wiring harnesses to scrap the male speaker connectors for the headliner and subwoofer from. Now, my questions and uncertainty: 1. What kind of fasteners do I need to physically mount the speakers that I don't currently have, like the headliner speakers and extra door speakers? 2. Is there an optimal technique for pulling down the headliner to cut the required holes? 3. Is there an ideal path to route the missing wires for the headliner speakers and subwoofer? 4. Am I missing anything from my list above? Trying to avoid ripping my car apart and then needing to drive to a hardware store mid-job for a bunch of screws :3 Thanks!

Hi!
Here are the part references I bought for the installation: 1x 31456872 1x 31438338 4x 31489121 2x 31456827 4x 31456822 1x 31651962 – Center speaker trim 1x 31456863 – Center speaker 1x 31490642 + 31490640 – HK front door trims 1x 32265527 1x 32212620 1x 31425780 – Roof speaker cover (black headliner) 1x 31425779 – Roof speaker cover (black headliner) The roof speakers already came with the mounting brackets in my case. I recommend getting speakers that already include the brackets. If you want, I can tell you the amplifier pinout, but if you buy an amplifier that already comes with the connectors, everything will be much easier. Headliner removal To lower the headliner, you need to remove the following parts in this order: 1- Roof grab handles 2- Rear door sill trims 3- Trunk side panels 4- C-pillar trims (the “trunk drops”) It’s important to follow this order, because if you don’t remove some parts, you won’t be able to remove the others. Once everything is loose, you only need to slightly lower the rear part of the headliner. You will need a cutting compass. The headliner already has cutting marks; this is explained in the first comment of the post. Roof speaker mounting You will need mounting rings that must be glued to the headliner to secure the speaker covers. I made these rings myself using 2 mm methacrylate. The car already has studs and nuts to fix the speakers; you will only need one M5x20 mm screw per speaker. Wiring The cables are routed to the right-hand side, following the factory wiring loom and secured with zip ties. Since you will have the entire trunk side and door sill removed, you can route the cables directly to the amplifier. The subwoofer is mounted on the left-hand side. Very important - The wires in the left amplifier connector change position, and in their place you must add the roof speaker wires. Check my last comment in this thread. - All other speakers are plug & play. If you have any questions or need the wiring diagram, just let me know. ️ Important tip: make sure the amplifier comes from a car with the same steering wheel position as yours (left-hand drive or right-hand drive). I bought one from a right-hand-drive car and had audio issues because of this detail. Also, make sure it’s from the same model as your car. Additional information - Speaker information: https://sweden-parts.pl/glosnik-volvo-20...s60-20-spa - In this link you will find instructions on how to remove the C-pillar trim and the trunk side panels, step by step: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bWiC6sa...p=drivesdk I think I didn’t forget anything. Regards!

Had a few more questions if you wouldn't mind: - Is the wiring the same as the V60 diagram in the first post in this thread? - Any advice on mounting the subwoofer? I noticed it has two threaded studs and two holes. Hoping to get the hardware and not have to drive out to get more while the trunk is torn apart haha. Thanks for the help. The instructions to take apart the trunk will be soooo helpful.

The wiring is different from the V60 and the XC90. If you send me a photo where the amplifier connector and the wiring are clearly visible, I can explain exactly what you need to do.
Yes, the subwoofer is secured with two M6x16 screws. To install it, you need to remove a rubber plug located on the underside of the car and then fit the subwoofer into position. You can access this rubber plug once you remove the trunk side panel. As far as I remember, I had to install the two subwoofer screws using clip nuts. I routed the subwoofer cable through the trunk side panel, then across the car under the rear seat (fully removing it), and finally down through the right-hand door sill. Let me know and I’ll help you. Regards.

Appreciate it. I'm waiting for some connectors and an extra tweeter (the speaker set I ordered was missing one > ) to come in before I tackle the rest of the job, but I really appreciate the help, so I'll reach out if I have any trouble.

Sorry, I explained it wrong.
The wiring is different between all model series. If you have an XC60, you will have the same wiring diagram as mine Originally, the front mid-range speakers are connected to 13/3 and 14/4. You need to move them to 11/1 and 22/10. The roof speakers are connected to 13/3 and 14/4. The negative wires are 3 and 4, which go to pin 2 of the speaker. On the right connector, pins 15 and 7 are for the subwoofer |
