Engine Remote Start

nice finding, I will try this, as i also lost window and trunk functionality. 

Another question, after remote starting is it mandadory to restart the engine or is there another way that the car "recognises the key" and driving abilities are unlocked? 

Because switching off and starting again the engine is a bit unlikely as it is already running.

AFAIK, it is mandatory even for other car brands to do “starting” the engine again to put it into driving mode.

Mine is T8 so starting the car by pressing brake pedal and turning the staring knob to drive is seamless when the HV battery has enough power, but have not tried to do ERS when it is low on battery yet.

My xc40 2021 Sensus also works only with changes for 276.
But it lost buttons functionality as mentioned before (Windows and Trunk control)

The key fob works flawlessly as well.

Configuration:
45 - key + phone app
50 - Police
276 - VIP

And one thing that I've noticed. If you'll write those configs to the car in one go — a key fob loses windows and trunk functionality.
But when you update 275 config first, and then update 45 — all should work well, including key fob functions.

Seems like 276 configs could have some influence on a windows and trunk functionality (maybe for the police type it's expected to be disabled). And by updating 45 — you update those functions back.

I'm not sure if that will resolve all the issues for the rest of cars, but I've tried it a few times and every time it worked for me in this way.

Furthermore, ERS could not work right after the configs update. But if you'll press the lock button twice and hold — you should see either the actual engine start, or the "engine check" icon flashing one or two times. For me, that was an indication that EMS functionality is working. After a few minutes, you should be able to start a car remotely.

I'm very happy to report that this method works really well! What I've done:

Set:
050 - 05 (Police)
276 - 11 (VIP thing)
Write the config once

Then set:
045 - 02
and write the config again

Last step: drive over 20kmph to activate the ERS

Now what's works:
- ERS by double pressing lock on key fob and hold on the second press for around 4 seconds
- Cancel ERS by same procedure as ERS but on the unlock button
- Remote tailgate open/close by holding the tailgate button
- Kick activated tailgate

You don't need to "restart" of the engine.
Once you turned the engine on remotely — you just need to sit in a car. Press the brakes and press the start button after it.
The car will be ready to go after it with no need to turn it off and turn it on again.

I tried these settings (050-02, 045-02, 276-11) tonight on my 2020 V60 CC (sensus) and it worked but, unless I didn't try pressing the buttons correctly (I tried pressing holding lock or unlock), the windows up/down via the remote no longer work? But everything else (ERS, tailgate open/close via remote + kick) does.

Ah okay, now i understand. So no need to literally restart the engine but just enable the driving functions with the procedure of starting it. That makes more sense. 

I also have a 2019 V60 and lost the window functions.

I'm guessing that, yes, we would need to do that because earlier someone said that writing the 45 setting is what "brought back" the window/hatch/etc functionality after setting the first round.

If we can figure this out, it would be really cool to have it available as one of the "easy"/"wizard" settings similar to the Pilot Assist settings.

I think in second round you can use anything of 02 - 07
