Yes. Passing assist is part of the Pilot assist.
I definitely know that it was changing lanes by itself on the highway as I showed my wife this feature and I had my hands off the steering wheel and the wheel on the dash was green. Funny things is that today I tried it again and when turning the signal on it deactivated the green wheel on the dash.(I have activated some more options since then, so will try to revert to the ones I used then)
Will do some more testing this days.
I am in EU btw.

What I *suspect* is happening is that when passing assist is activated when you turn on the turn signals, multiple things are happening.
The car is accelerating towards the car in front of it in preparation for passing.
Lane keeping assist appears to be disabled (so the car doesn’t push back against you or alarm when changing lanes). This occurs whenever you turn on the turn signals, it’s not part of passing assist.
But the combination means that when you engage passing assist by turning on the tie signals while you are in pilot assist mode, the car can drift out of its lane. Once it’s over in the next lane and you disengage the turn signal, pilot assist reasserts itself and starts holding lane position.
A true active lane change assist is much more complex. It has to be able to scan the lane next to you, check for an opening, check to make sure there isn’t traffic about to overtake you, and then autonomously initiate the lane change when it has an opening, make the change, then shut off the turn signal on its own once the change is complete.
I do not think Volvo has that capability in the current generation of pilot assist.

Hi, guys! I have xc90 2016 t6 USA, which is not equipped with ACC and PA from the factory. Want to try Orbit to activate these features, and got some questions:
1) which version of Orbit should I buy for that purpose(I just want to add ACC to my car, nothing more)
2) is there any chance to get known possibility of that, before buying Orbit?( maybe my car doesn’t have some sensors or other “hardware” from factory)

I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if this has been asked already. I have a 2019 volvo s60 inscription plus. I bought at beginning of may.
It doesn't have adaptive cruise control or pilot assist . But does have intellisafe, cruise control ot brakes when I get too close to a car in front etc .
Now iv asked volvo if they can add the intellisafe assist onto my car which they said yes for £1,080
After me researching online I found out about this software orbit which I can use to enable certain things but then I'm hearing something about abs units or pumps.
My question is if I buy orbit how will I know if I can enable acc and pilot assist myself instead of going to volvo. Does it just show on the list if it's available to be enabled
But then if it can be enabled does that mean I don't need to replace the abs unit thing or anything

If you see BCM2 in ECU list in OrBit, which allows break by wire, usually equiped in all hybrids, then you are good to go. Otherwise you will need to upgrade ABS hydraulic unit.
I have 2020 XC60 B5 diesel (hybrid) and it was there.
So it was just about enabling it in the configs.

It'll work on any pump. I ran it for a year on my 2016 XC90 with the pump that they say needs to be upgraded.
Fact is, nobody knows for certain why Volvo say you need the new pump. It might be something to do with lifespan when run. It might not be quite powerful enough but works. But either way, Volvo aren't going to tell you.
You can confirm usually with your chassis number and the Volvo website, or as above it'll show in Orbit. Otherwise, do ya feel lucky punk?
