Drive Mode and Steering Personalization without Switch

I also didn't see the option in the settings at first. Second time I tried it, let the car reset then option was there. Same happened with ACC/PA for me

Guys, what config you have enabled on 016 Power Steering Personalisation for those that have drive mode wheel from factory?

Dear all, this is Lieven from Portugal. I just successfully installed drive modes on my (Belgian) 2018 V90CC without drive mode knob and without centre console switch.
057 to 03
452 to 01
337 to 01
All modes appeared and are working. However the drive mode menu dissapears after 10 seconds or so, the drive mode is displayed on the driver´s screen below the gear indicator. Lost hill descent control, but I think it is worth it. Drive modes are all very different in terms of shifting, accelerator pedal sensitivity, and power delivery. This is a different car. My motivation to engage with Orbit was the lazyness of the automatic gearbox, letting the engine rev without engaging, not taking benifit of the torque zone, especially when promptly accelerating from 1st or 2nd gear.  I will keep you posted on my experience after 500km of driving.

Hi!

I tried these settings to my V90 2017 with no results. My car is Swedish model and without drive mode knob and without center console switch  Only thing I got was an permanent error code and no drive mode options in settings. Are you sure that those three settings alone made your drive mode options working?

Here is what I tried:

And with those settings I got this error code and no drive mode options available:

I also tried these configurations and with these I got drive mode menu visible in Sensus but I can't see any difference no matter which settings I choose.

I also activated power steering personalizations and got menu available but I cannot see any difference no matter which setting I choose. I also activated polestar optimization and I got polestar-settings to menu but still no difference no matter what settings I choose.

Does anyone have any ideas what I should try next? What would happen if I just activate polestar optimization without any other drive mode settings? Functional drive mode menu would still be the best option though.

I drove about 1000 kms with these new settings. This is my update:

Firstly I have to mention that I use the car off road every day (the access to my house is 3 kms of gravel and earth (mud) with very steep sections and river crossings.

The most significant change installing the drive modes is the availability of the OFF ROAD mode. However the Hill Descent Controll switch on the central screen dissapeared, HDC automatically engages when steep descent is detected and this mode even engages more when towing. Moreover, OFF ROAD mode keeps gears in high revs, which is perfect in difficult conditions such as towing on steep muddy tracks (which I tested this week).

More facts:
1. Idle RPM in POLESTAR is 1000
2. Throttle sensitivy in OFF ROAD and ECO mode is low, in COMFORT it is medium and in POLESTAR it is high:
3. Gear shifting point is lowest in ECO, highest in OFF ROAD, high in POLESTAR and medium in COMFORT (however, I am not sure if this could be only the result of throttle sensitivity; more throttle provoces higher rev shifting points in all modes, except in OFF ROAD mode).
4. In 1st and 2nd gear (fluid controlled coupler system), ECO and POLESTAR seem to shift earlier than in COMFORT or OFF ROAD mode (I have to do some research on that).

As for my daily use of the car, I mostly use COMFORT mode, which is probably the same as the standard drive mode I had before the ORBIT install of drive modes. In contrary to its concept, I also use POLESTAR in off road conditions because the throttle reactions are quick. Mind that the AWD allways engages beyond the control of the driver, regardless the mode used. I only engage OFF ROAD in extreme conditons, which I encounter on daily base.

I will keep you posted.

Dear Terence, FYI, after install, I locked the car and waited 15 minutes.  Kind regards.
