R-Design steering Wheel
#21
Hey all, I had some testing parts made up, paddle shift add harness for cars that don't have the wiring, taps into the SWM plug, and then to the EGSM/GSM side. I got both versions EGSM for the electronic shifter and GSM for the physical shifter. All plug and play no cut wires. If anyone has an immediate need, I will send you one if you want to try it and give the feedback. email me at support and we can work it out.

I beleive it is pretty easy to get to the shifter wiring without removing the console, on all but the PHEV models where things are a bit tighter with battery under there.

I ordered an R-Design steering wheel (Heated and With peddles)! from Latvia. Cost me around $250 including tax and shipment!
I checked my wiring and verified that my 2019 s60 t5, manufactured in 10/18 is in indeed pre-wired according to the images posted by GRG
I'll keep you posted once I do the switch!

I've seen one post where user carved places for flaps into his existing steering wheel.
Does anyone find part number just for flaps? Im curious to fit them into my standard wheel, not huge fan of the bulky R-design  Cool

answere to my question:

Left flap '-' 31343774
Right flap '+' 31343775
Harness 31377086

Today, I received the R-Design heated steering wheel.
I ended up wiring the 3 wires from the steering wheel module to the shifter connector.

I did not used the repair terminal, I could not find the part number for it!  I just pushed the naked wire inside the connector pin hole and zip typed the 3 wires to the rest of the wires so that it does not move.

It works!

Topic adjacent; does anyone have a spare paddle shifter they could dissect? I’m working on a diy option (3d printed, magnetic) specifically for a stock steering wheel, but if I were a betting man I’d assume Volvo didn’t use a simple switch and that there is circuitry I’d have to mimic.

Yes, I see the circuit board now. I’m hoping to see the components and traces to attempt to mimic it.
