Retrofit heated steering wheel problem. Help!

The easiest way to start is to remove it and check your ring's part number; with that, we can find the correct one.

There are different models depending on the options your car has. Within those options, there are versions with a heated steering wheel and without it. As a starting point, and to be sure, the most important thing is to

have your original factory reference.

Since you'll be removing it to check the reference, you can also see whether the wiring is already present.

In my case, I bought a fuse box from a scrapyard to get the terminals. The surprise was that when I took everything apart, the car already had the wiring installed.

La forma más fácil de empezar es quitarlo y comprobar el número de pieza de tu anillo; así podremos encontrar el correcto.

Hay diferentes modelos según las opciones de tu coche. Dentro de estas opciones, hay versiones con volante calefactable y sin él. Como punto de partida, y para estar seguro, lo más importante es

tener la referencia original de fábrica.

Dado que lo quitarás para comprobar la referencia, también puedes comprobar si el cableado ya está instalado.

En mi caso, compré una caja de fusibles en un desguace para conseguir los terminales. La sorpresa fue que, al desmontarlo todo, el coche ya tenía el cableado instalado.

¡Muchas gracias por la información! Respecto al cableado, estoy seguro de que no lo tengo porque revisé el fusible debajo del asiento y no está, así que supongo que el cableado no está instalado. Por otra parte, tengo una pregunta sobre el anillo. Voy a comprar uno usado y quiero asegurarme de que no cause problemas y de que esté centrado. ¿Hay alguna forma de saber si se quitó correctamente al desmontarlo? ¿Qué debo buscar?

It really doesn't matter whether it's centered or not. If it isn't, you can center it yourself using the calibration guide.

Let me share my experience:

the ring is basically an electronic ribbon cable wound internally, and it is very, very sensitive if you go beyond its limit.

I bought a ring that was supposedly already centered. I installed it, but it didn't work. I removed it, calibrated it, and then I could see that the internal connection was broken.

I bought a second ring; this one was not centered. I centered it, installed it, and it worked on the first try.

To check if it's centered, you need to look at the black marks on the ribbon on the left side, as shown in the ide.
