I need to install a new blind spot sensor on the left side. I read somewhere that it will need to be paired or reset somehow to work with a given car. Is this possible in Orbit?

the new BLISS (modules) are need to be flashed (orbit) or software reload (VIDA) language.
As far as I know, Orbit can flash those but you will need to drop an email to support to see if they have the correct software for your year / model. If not, you will need VIDA.

and if the module is used, i.e. it already has some flash, is it the same?

If the used model comes from same exact model / year, correct side and same part number, you may have a chance for plug and play. Both BLISS must have same version of software.
Now, very important when buying used one. As I mentioned, VIDA should be able to reload the used BLISS for your car but make sure the replacement used part number is listed for your VIN or make sure the part number is same as the original. Otherwise, VIDA would not reload.

OrBit can deal with a used SODL/SODR (BLIS modules). Most likely it's loaded with software if it's used, but the orientation may be incorrect (right or left side). OrBit has the Service Procedures for SODL/SODR to reset the orientation, in case a left side unit was installed to the right side, or vice versa.
If needed, you can load software to the SODL/SODR as well. It's a little of a manual process loading software with OrBit, may need to identify the correct software and get the files. I always help if you contact me at support email. |
