XC90 illuminated door sills on V60
#1
Thumbs Up

  1. Hi guys. I installed illuminated thresholds from the XC90, on my V60 2019. I connected them to the footlights (as they are connected to the XC90, when they are installed as accessories). It works well (including dimming), until I open a door, at which point it flashes 2 times and goes out. On Vida, I found an error related to current consumption (too high). Is it possible to stop their monitoring or to increase their current limit?

This problem can be solved simply by pulling out a connector on one foot light or extending the wiring to connect it to the door light.

I'll look at the door light wiring diagram. I noticed that it works if i pull an connector from an foot light

Be careful with those lights and where you connect them! Because, many of those ambient lights are powered by the control units such as door control unit for all the lights on the door!
Similarly,  front fog lights are powered by the CEM. They do not have a separate fuse and power line with on/off relay!
The error you sow "  current consumption (too high) "  clearly tells you that the controller powering the lights is loaded, you can actually burn it!

The control module on XC90 and V60 might be different or the software in those are different! So do not try to wire those lights on V60 according to xc90 diagram!
Find a VIN number of a V60/ S60  that have those lights from factory and get the wiring diagram from that!  Then, you might need to change the config in Orbit! for the interior lights.

Hello. The V60 doesn't have those illuminated thresholds from the factory, so I don't really have anything to compare it with. The car already has the "high" interior lighting package, so I don't have anything else to configure above. In the end, I disconnect the pawls from under the front seats and the thresholds work normally

Is it possible to wire it like on the 90 series, according to the wiring diagramm i found in this forum the door sills have a separate pin in the cem

Add 100ohm resistor to each + wire.

No sadly, that's why i am asking. I am retrofiting high level illumination in my car and i was thinking to add led threadlpates. If anyone could help me find the right pigtail for the IP connector i will try to work it out

If I wire it to the front footwell light? Or if i wire it according to the wiring diagramm

wire it to the footwell light, add 100ohm between footwell and sill and you will be fine.
