2G and 3G Shutdown - Software update

Here in Europe the 2G and 3G will soon shutdown and all cars with Sensus need a softwareupdate.
Spoke to my serviceguy at Volvo and he said that as i have retrofitted B&W Audiounit the software update did not work at the last service, he will most probably not be able to make this softwareupdate.
Anyone knows if it is possible to just update one module or if he needs to do the full softwareupdate which stops when a unknown module is detected?

Smilar question - If I want to change the VCM or TEM software to support LTE, will I also need to replace the hardware? I think so. The 2G, 3G VCM modules have different connectors than LTE; it's not a plug-and-play process. Has anyone performed such modifications and would like to share their knowledge?

For upgrade we need to buy:

Harness Volvo 32334843 - for 2015Year where VCM is under fuse box
VCM part number 36003589 (or VCM Hardware upgrade kit - 36003681 )
TEM Remove SW - 32319432
VCM Reload SW - 31427694

VCM must be new - fresh, because have ROM memory and its not possible to reload software.
