Retrofit R Design steering wheel
#1
Hi guys,

I have a V90 Modellyear 2018

I’m planning to retrofit an R-Design steering wheel and I have a question.

I ordered one that comes with an extra cable which fits into the connector I marked in the picture. My current steering wheel doesn’t have anything connected there.

Does anyone know what this connector is for?

Can I still use the new steering wheel with that cable, or will I get any error messages if I leave it unused or connect it?

Also, does anyone know the correct torque spec (Nm) for the steering wheel bolt?

Thanks ?

That extra cable is for steering wheel heating. The connector you're referring to is a dummy and does nothing. You need to replace the SWM for one that has steering wheel heating. Then activate it with OrBit. You may be lucky because for your model year it was an option, so all cabling should be there.

Tightening torque for the steering wheel bolt is 60Nm. Thanks for Marcp who just posted instructions for another topic.
