How does OrBit config affect OTA updates? Will my car get blocked?

Good afternoon! Tell me, is it possible to somehow force the system to start downloading OTA updates? For some reason, the car was updated to 3.7, then 4.3.12 did not come. And now the 5.0.5 update also did not come. I have already installed OEM parameters and rebooted the system, but the updates are not coming. XC60 T8 PHEV 23MY.

i believe when you miss a few updates its dealer visit time.

4.3.12 is OTA capable for 5.0.5, what exact car, the UX Update comes in waves, if your car is not brand new you may in the running wave or in the last wave. Afaik there are 3 or 4 waves. They are weekly based and i think as long there are not to much problems the next wave is triggered. Depending on the answer about your car i just expect that you need to be a little more patient? Maybe a week or two.

Oh shit i missed that he missed 4.3.12, sorry! is Volvo not OTA updating older updates than the recent update step? If so good for the dealer, bad for the late guys, if Orbit related more bad but hopefully not :-) me personally didnt made the first config change, i recently purchased orbit, i wait for the new UX and will then go for the first shot.

About version 3.7 → 4.3.12

• Version 3.7 itself was not universally OTA for all vehicles
  
• The jump from 3.x to 4.x (including 4.3.12) is a major update, not just a minor patch
  

That matters because:

• Major updates often require deeper system changes
  
• Some cars need preparatory updates first
  
• In many cases, Volvo requires a workshop installation
  

For your Volvo XC60 T8 (MY23), the situation is actually quite typical—and it matches what you suspected:

The jump from 3.7 → 4.3.12 was not reliably OTA
Many XC60 MY23 needed a workshop update (dealer) at some point in that chain.

Volvo expects that you have been at the dealer in between, so they think that you should already have 4.3.12, inspection makes money.

Glad i know a friendly dealer, a crate of beer and i get the latest update on fridays while quitting time. Cheers  same guy that let me install whireshark on the workshop notebook... official volvo dealer in germany. Regular update costs here in germany with my dealer is about 55€
