Alarm installation

Hi! I'm going to retrofit the alarm and motion sensor to my 2018 XC40.
I thought it had an alarm because the red light was flashing, but no… there's neither an alarm nor a sensor. The sensor mounted in the dome light has factory wiring, so it's just a matter of installing it, but the alarm under the windshield wipers has no wiring at all, and I'll have to make some myself. 
I know it has three wires:
-red (fuse 30)
-brown (negative) 
-purple???

Can anyone tell me where to connect the brown and purple wires?

Negative wire can be wiered anywere where you find a grounding point. Purplue is the lin cable, you will need to wire it to the CEM, the hard part will be to go past the firewall

Hi mate! Thanks a lot for the info, it's really helpful for getting an idea! But...do you know where the CEM module is located on the XC40? And will the Orbit configuration be the same as on your XC60?

I have a V60 and the CEM is located in the leftside of the  dashboard. You can peek at the footwell air vents if yours is there. It is mounted kinda high.

Hello,

Yes, it is located on the left-hand side, above the pedals, bolted to the side panel. Yes, the configuration in ORBIT is the same. At this link you can download the XC40 diagrams.
