Snapdragon upgrade for P2

If Volvo don't offer this upgrade - any change in hardware will get your car blocked. The PIE and TIE servers know exactly what should be in your car, software and hardware.

I suspect, given people are posting on the internet, the ability to order these to a non-dealership setting will be shut down pretty quickly. It'll be dealer fit only - outside of the US, who has RTR legislation.

If you read this thread, you will see that this is indeed being offered in Europe as either a dealer install (with the software update) or user install (with the software updated by the dealer).

The guy who posted in this thread did the swap himself, took it to the dealer who updated the software through VIDA. Rumor has it that the US market will also get this in Q126, based on the performance of the IHU and user feedback in Europe.

Polestar aren’t going to sell you one of these for your Volvo. It’ll be a dealer only fit. The upgrade will be a subsidised price vs what a standalone IHU will be.

Software reloads would require VIDA access. Your car might (will) be blocked if the hardware ID/part number doesn’t match. Therefore you won’t get the required software.

If you want to know how complicated it used to be, before it got shut down as a way: https://www.drive2.ru/l/600252810612705764/

Looks like this is a Volvo part (EX40 and EC40 are compatible too)
