For those who have enabled PA and didn’t change the pump, has that part held up long term? I’m worried it will cause wear and need premature replacement. Any other strange occurrences related to tech or braking after long term use of it?

1year with PA now and no problems. I doubt there will be any to be honest. And I don't remember I've ever heard of any issues.

But you've got to ask why Volvo specify a different pump.
You won't hear it issues as nobody has been using it since 2016 on the 'incorrect' ABS pump... Modification is a very niche market.
So the question; do you feel lucky? Use at your own risk. I put mine back to standard cruise.

maybe it's not the durability that is the issue maybe it's performance? let's say PA doesn't brake as effectively in emergency without the better pump? nobody would notice a difference in normal driving but there's probably a reason Volvo only trusts the life of the passengers on the better pump
