Corrupted Data Received Message Failures- Alive / sequence counter incorrect / not up
#1
Hi there! So, I stupidly decided—right before my big road trip with my family—to run an OrBit flash. I wanted to enable the rear emergency braking on my vehicle. I drive a 2016 XC90 T6.
I've used OrBit on here before with no issues, but today, not so much. After coding, I got all these errors after enabling and testing the emergency braking: parking brake failure, airbag failure, and more. But there's one that won’t go away no matter how much I try—the ESC is temporarily off message, along with all these codes in the DTC.
I've tried writing back to OEM settings, resetting all the DTCs, resetting the ECUs (both soft and hard), and running diagnostic tools, but I’m worried I corrupted the files if my cable somehow came loose or my laptop froze.
I do want to mention that it started to rain during this process, and it will continue for the next 10 days. However, I did this inside the car, where it couldn’t get wet.
I think I’m going to get a new programming laptop to decrease the likelihood of this happening again, but I’m really worried about how to fix these codes first.

Just sharing my experience: I had such errors when I played with the car on non-full battery and when the voltage drops below 12v under heavy load. What I do to prevent this now is that I charge the battery before reconfiguration session and in addition, I connect my 25A charger during the session to provide extra power in case the car system needs it. And it often does, especially during various operations through Orbit.

In the past when I got similar errors than you, I charged the battery, Cleared DTCs, Reset ECUs and drove a bit to get rid of them. But they disappeared gradually so you may need to iterate through above steps a couple of times Smile

I remember taking a mental note that the voltage ones at around 12 V when I did do the flash, which I usually don’t flash when orbit gives me a warning that the voltage was low, but it never gave me a specific warning telling me not to flash it’s been around a day now and I’ve tried clearing it as much as I can, and I’ve driven about an hour and I still can’t get it to go away. I’ve been doing that procedure for a while now I don’t have traction control stability control auto brake hold or any type of cruise control setting
