Replace SWM
#1
Since the steering wheel heater stopped working it seems like I have to replace the SWM.
Can I do necessary service functions using orbit or will I have to go to the dealer to program it as well?
The car is a XC40 2020.

Honestly, I would suspect the wheel heating element itself before suspecting the SWM.

But to your question, if you buy a SWM, you will probably need to do a software reload with VIDA.

If the SWM was the exact same hardware, maybe its possible to back up your SWM firmware and program with Orbit. I'm not sure. If it were me, and you purchase a virgin SWM, I would get VIDA and do a proper reload.

Problem solved. Took the SWM apart and found a little low tension in a connector. Tightened it up and it has been working since.
