VCM-U105000 - Backup battery lifetime exceeded
#1
Hello!

Couple of days ago my car showed Volvo on call - service required message.

Since my car is blocked from the factory, I didn't care and connected VIDA to my car and discovered that it needs VCM backup battery replacement. But that's not all.. Now VOLVO requires to download some special software (witch is probably just random reset script) but since my car is blocked and it's not possible to unblock it in my country (because our dealership is full of morons who just want money for doing nothing) and told that factory don't unblock them anymore.

Is there somehow possible to add this service function to Orbit?

There is a Volvo technical journal for this issue. The software does reset a counter in the VCM unit but also fixes a related bug.

It's more than just a service function, you would need to get the software and flash it using Orbit.

I believe there is nothing to do with VCM software. Only affected ecu is CEM when making download with VIDA(looked other cars that i have made this download)
Please correct me if i'm wrong..

Replace the VCM Backup Battery and download the relevant SP listed below:
SPA = 32398268 CMA = 32301733
These SP’s will need to be manually ordered and are free of charge.
Please note: You might get a pop up that states this is not a valid SP. Just click YES, to continue.

No need to replace the battery - it is enough just to install the software mentioned. Checked many times.

Can anyone get those vbfs files? ( SPA = 32398268 CMA = 32301733 )
as in case its possible to get it and and decrypt, it should be possible to load it via Orbit or DSA to VCM... probably

Andrew has it for sure, at least for SPA.

OK, I have it for SPA as well. But it's impossible to attach it here
