Interesting - there have been a few extra member sign ups over the past few days (between those blasted spammers, which should be under control) will look at the hosting panels to see where the traffic originates!

It's very popular with the Polestar folks, to enable those adaptive Pixels! When we gotta have them disabled for US regulations...

Just saw this in my Google feed and came to see if anyone posted it already. I signed up recently but haven't started "my Journey" yet. My first post here. Lol
I never talk about Orbit on SwedeSpeed or Reddit. Too worried Volvo will shut it down like Mazda did with the AIO software that used to work. (Still works on my Mazda as I never took the update).
Is there any concern that Volvo could do the same to Orbit?

Nope.

They tried updating VIDA to stop it (Read: https://v-spa.net - hosting runs out in 4 days... be quick Wink) but that didn't really matter or slow anything down.
They can't close down the ability to sniff traffic though.

Unless they switch to encrypted mode in programming mode like https but that would require HW changes on the obd2. So, it less likely.
Or, they would revert back to USB device which is also less likely.
The only quick change they might do to avoid easy process is by forcing the PIN change with every total upgrade or at the service when VIDA is connected. Don't know if CEM supports it though!

Looks down already.

Thanks friends. I'll be getting it soon. Need to order some TPMS sensors. Wink

I keep a low profile too hehe. Volvo could be in here...well they probably are (Hi Volvo!) but you can see why there is no need to relate your forums name to a real name in there forums, unline some social media ;-)

I think overall, the situation is: to "shut down" config like OrBit totally they would need technical changes to the cars, like I am sure the "next generation" of cars will incorporate those type of changes to shut this stuff down, or at least make it practically not worth it. On the cars already designed and manufactured, that's real hard to do. But Volvo can just try to make life a little difficult to "discourage" which they have done, as much as they can.

(If you are here Volvo, look me up, talk to your bosses, reach out to me, "unofficially" is OK. We could work things out to make everyone happy. I know that will never happen, but I still put it out there just in case;-))
