Battery Chargers
#31
Hi, Volvo XC90 2016 T6.
I have few question can you please help.
  • Where do we need to connect battery charger / tender / jumper wires. Is it to the Auxiliary battery under the hood ?
  • Instead of battery Battery Tender / Battery Charger can we hook up the jumper cables to this car (XC90) and connect the other end to other car and keep that other car running while working on this car with Orbit ?

The battery charger connections are described in Volvo user manual, there are two poles under the hood.

Same for charging from another car, on some models it is not allowed per user manual.

This should be in the FAQ section. I've been looking everywhere for this info. I was about to cave in and start a thread but searched for "Trickle" first.
I'm getting ready to buy for my 19 T6 S60 to basically add the "real" TPMS sensors (already installed).
It sounds like the initial connecting takes some time. Is this anything to worry about re: battery? Sounds like I'll be fine?

No, but my advise, stay away from T6 engines. (both turbo and supercharge). Those engines have so many issues especially if the oil is not changed every 5000 to 7000 miles because the engine block is same as T5 and supercharged together with the turbo add huge pressure to it.

Thanks for confirming the "NO".

The rest was a bit unnecessary. This isn't a "should I buy..."

But this isn't the place to discuss that.

Well, what I can say; you must be the lucky ones or you are driving conservatively. I just shared the experience of some of my friends.

Quote:Maybe your friends don't take exceptional care of their cars. Maybe they're just unlucky. How many friends do you have with blown Superchargers?
How many could you possibly?
2 of them had s60, 2 of them had xc90 and 1 of them had s90.  Years between 2018 to 2021.

Quote:Why would you tell someone that already bought the car to ....avoid it in this thread? I mean, that's just straight shitty.
I thought you are about to buy one  " I'm getting ready to buy for my 19 T6 S60.."
Besides, why are you getting so offended, this is an open forum.  You have the car, you are enjoying it and you are happy with it end of story.

what's wrong with you dude? If you do not agree with my or anyone else's opinion, just say I don't agree, no need to be rude or call other's comments " shitty advice" !
Good like to you with this attitude!

In the interest of not cluttering this thread, I edited and deleted stuff.

I don't want that to derail this: Please put this post in the FAQ section Mods. Really would have saved me some time.
