In my country they said that I must Activate Volvo on call and this cost 150€ (activation and 1 year subscription) and subscription for second year is 50€+ so 200€ for 2 years.

I`m not shure what will happen if I buy extension for subscription from that link. You need to send them licence plate number or VIN number so probably if purchase can be made then also Volvo on call can work?

They don't offer it anymore... Any alternatives?

Hey, do you know if this VOC renewal will work with US car in EU? 200USD is expensive for 1 year but every source is saying that it is impossible to get VOC working in the EU for the US car.

I have changed all connectin settings in orbit to match EU standards including the modem so I am now worried that it may not work. Does anyone tried doing VOC in EU for US car? Would be good to first check the internet connection from the SIM if its working.

Last week, I visited a dealer in our city and inquired about a VOC subscription. I am in Latvia, but my car is from France. When I tried to subscribe (for €43 per year) over the phone, it showed France as the region, and I couldn't change it. I went to the dealer in my city with this question. They told me that the region (market) must be changed to the actual one. This is because they cannot guarantee that the service will work correctly, and some functions will not work at all. The region can only be changed through the dealer, and no other way. This service costs €120. And yes, the first year of subscription after changing the region costs another €100 or €120, I don't remember exactly. In total, the first year of subscription (including the region change) costs €220-240. The second and subsequent years will cost €43 (excluding inflation). This is the honest information I received from the dealer last week (12.2025). In the end, I decided to subscribe without changing the region. Everything works well in the app: it opens/closes the doors, starts the engine, flashes the headlights, shows geolocation, etc. I did not check the emergency buttons on the ceiling. I think there will be some nuances when working in another region. During use, several attempts to start the engine from the app ended in error. To use the Volvo Cars app with a subscription, you don't need a SIM card in your car! Everything works without a physical SIM card.
