Yes, I get an indicator in my driver screen. I'm in the US and no, I do not get any beeps. Details here:

Head to the smaller roads for test the function. You can turn it off(if possible in AAOS) when you don't need to prevent it from doing strange things in highway ramps for example. Beeping might be curve assistant warning? Warning doesn't work on sensus but might work on AAOS

This is accurate. For the most parts, highways in the NE are straight. But we have plenty of parkways and state roads that are narrow and winding, with significant and sudden elevation changes. Adaptive Cruise Control with Curve Speed Assist is a blessing in these conditions.
