I don't have a battery maintainer/charger available. Would it be safe to run the engine instead of using Position II, to keep the voltage stable and avoid any battery drop during the coding process?

For example I did a 20 minutes ride I connected orbit state ignition 2 I was on 12v and charge 70% once connected I saw a drop to 11.9 and 68%
Is it risky to try a change using orbit in this situatuoon
