My experience.
The car wouldn't start, the key wouldn't go to position 2 so regular diagnostics via OBD didn't work - V tool.
Orbit was able to diagnose the error without putting the key in position 2 and it showed an scl error.
I disconnected the SCL module and in the settings selected 01 Without Steering Column Lock.
After that the car started normally. I removed the SCL module from the car and struggled with the screws that hold it in. They have to be turned with a hammer and a sharp screwdriver to move them and then unscrewed with round pliers. I ordered an SCL emulator from Aliexpress for 12 eur in case I ever restore the OEM software.
