Wanted to hop on this and give details regarding my process to success with this retrofit. Maybe it'll help others out. I have a 2021 S60 T8 which came with indirect TPMS reading from factory. I purchased the Orbit software and made the following adjustments
"019 TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM" coded from "01 WITHOUT" to "03 TPMS WBL US ALGORITHM"
"020 TPMS MENU FUNCTIONS" coded from "02 WITH TPMS MENU, RESET" to "05 WITH TPMS MENU, RESET/SHOW PRESSURE" or "08 WITH TPMS MMENU, SHUT OFF/SHOW PRESSURE/RESET" (either or works, second one gives the option turn TPMS on/off
"267 INDIRECT TPMS SYSTEM" coded from "03 INDIRECT TPMS, US ALGORITHM" to "01 WITHOUT INDIRECT TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM"
Now here is the part that matters most and is also what I originally didn't prioritize. On Orbit, when you click the "Config Wizard" tab at the top, Orbit provides the specific part number labeled as "Recommended PN" right next to a photo of a TPMS sensor. My part number, and likely yours as well will be 31362304. This part number HAS to match with the TPMS sensors that you buy. Along with the correct frequency which will likely be 433 MHz (this is what mine is). You can find the correct frequency by clicking on "Configurator" tab at the top and searching up frequency. Under 092 you will see that it shows the current frequency that your vehicle uses. Mine shows as 434 MHz, this is because the exact frequency is 433.92, it's rounded up to 434. So with that being said, 434 MHz is also 433 MHz. All together for my vehicle specifically came out to be any TPMS sensors that were specifically labeled as "433 MHz 31362304". This means the sensors are preprogrammed to the correct and specific file/PN needed for your Volvo to read these sensors.
Here is where I jacked up. I purchased blank/unprogrammed Shrader sensors from a local shop that had the correct frequency of 433 MHz. Now in my case, when I took these sensors to get installed at Discount Tire, they noted to me that they did not have the right file to program to my sensors in order for my car to read them. At this point I was not too knowledgeable on TPMS sensors and did not understand that these TPMS sensors NEEDED to be programmed in order to work. I assumed the frequency was enough to signal the readings to my car. So I confidently told them to just install them, that it should work. WRONG. They did not work lol. Wasted lots of time, miles, and gas hoping for the readings to show up on the screen. Praying the hamster wheel would stop. Instead I continuously received "calibration unsuccessful".
If it's worth mentioning, my car had the TPMS light on my gauge cluster and also stated "Tire Pressure system service required". I mention this for anyone paranoid that this automatically means the your vehicle is incompatible. This is what I had in the back of my mind for a bit, but that is not the case. If I'm not mistaken, it shows this solely only due to not having any proper readings transmitting to the vehicle.
Now after receiving "calibrations unsuccessful" after multiple tries, I finally called it quits and did a bit more research back at home. Finally, I realized I needed to program these sensors, although in order to do so, SHRADER sensors require high end TPMS tools that can actually read them and program them. Autel is not one of them (this is a popular and common branded TPMS tool used by many shops, and easily available to purchase on online stores such as amazon). I went ahead and purchased a used ATEQ TPMS tool on Ebay for around $270 after finding out that this tool was perfect for programming these sensors. Before I continue I'd like to mention that yes, I took my car to multiple shops before purchasing this tool, praying that someone could program these sensors for me. No success. After purchasing this tool, I went ahead and proceeded with the programming. On the tool I chose, 2021, Volvo, S60. For the model there were 2 options for S60, those being S60 & S60 Indirect. Went ahead and chose S60 and programmed everything with no problem. At this point I was excited and hopeful that all was good to go. I was wrong.. Again after many miles, gas, and time wasted nothing calibrated. Went back home and did more research once again. Found out that this ATEQ tool was likely outdated and did not have the correct file to program to these sensors. What is supposed to be listed under model on the tool, should have been "S60 433MHz 31362304". So what my tool programmed was just a generic file, not compatible with what was needed. It is known that many model Volvos throughout multiple years share the same hardware that read the same file/frequency. I went through all the different models and years on this tool, desperately trying to find any that said "433 MHz 31362304" after the model name. None showed and with this I confirmed my tool was outdated. Checked online how much to update my tools software and that was about $200 to get licensed to do so. Screw that! At this point I was already about $685 deep into trying to get this to work with the sensors, Orbit, TPMS tool, & discount tire installation. Kinda baffling thinking about it lol. I guess Orbit could be unchecked from that list as I originally purchased Orbit for another reason.
For clarification, an easier way to understand this whole frequency and part number/file is to imagine 2 people on a radio communicating to each other, the radio frequency is correct (433 MHz) so they can hear each other although 1 individual speaks English and the other Japanese (different part numbers/files). They hear each other but can't understand eachother. Volvo hears through the 433MHz signal but cannot read it.
At this point, I now knew that I needed to find TPMS sensors that were preprogrammed with the correct file and frequency. "433MHz 31362304" in order to make this whole thing much more simple. Unprogrammed/blank was 100% not the way to go unless I wanted to struggle. If you surely have some way to program the correct file to TPMS sensors then you shouldn't struggle how I did, although I cannot confirm this as this was not my case.
After digging on eBay I found some preprogrammed "MORESENSOR" TPMS sensors that fit the correct frequency and part number/file. Attached is the link to the ones I purchased.

Yes these sensors state 16-21 Volvo XC90, but as previously mentioned, many years and models share the same part and frequency. What matters is that it shows 433MHz 31362304. DOUBLE CHECK the part number 31362304 (or whatever frequency & PN your vehicle reads) is correct. There are different ones for sale with different part numbers, don't confuse them.
Got them installed today and success! After a few minutes of driving, the light on my gauge cluster disappeared and then pressure readings appeared on the infotainment. At first, when the readings showed, they were showing up with high numbers for each tire. When coding, this also gives you an additional adjustment under "system languages & units" in the infotainment. That being "tire pressure units", mine was automatically set to kPa. Switched it to Psi and all good to go.
